Background: The study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic potential of fourteen newly synthesized bisphosphonates by assessing their bioavailability, bone affinity, and cytotoxicity. These bisphosphonates included a series of aminomethylenebisphosphonates and standard compounds such as risedronate and tiludronate.

Methods: Drug permeability was determined using Parallel Artificial Membrane Permeability Assays (PAMPA), while bone affinity was assessed by sorption on hydroxyapatite.

The bioavailability of orally administered bisphosphonates is very low (<1%) due to their short absorption window in the proximal duodenum and high affinity for food. Food ingredients are able to bind the drug, but the presence of food extends the residence time of bisphosphonates in the absorption window. Therefore, the main goal of this study is to select a group of food products that are characterized by low binding affinity to bisphosphonates and thus will not reduce their availability upon concomitant administration.

Non-destructive tests were performed on four plates, one of which was undamaged, while the remaining three had defects in the form of circular holes with diameters of 2, 5 and 10 cm. In this paper, a condition assessment of masonry pillars is presented. Non-destructive tests were performed on an intact pillar as well as three pillars with internal inclusions in the form of a hole, a steel bar grouted by gypsum mortar, and a steel bar grouted by cement mortar. Objective: This study retrospectively evaluated the first year of the operation of the Regional Human Milk Bank

Material And Methods: Data concerning donors was collected in the human milk bank during the cooperation. The clinical characteristics of the recipients was made on the basis of medical documentation from the Holy Family Hospital in Warsaw, Poland. Analysis of nutritional value was performed with the human milk analyzer (MIRIS AB)

Results: In the first year of activity, 45 voluntary donors established cooperation, donating from 650 to 32030 ml of human milk.

Adequate nutrition is particularly important during pregnancy since it is needed not only for maintaining the health of the mother, but also determines the course of pregnancy and its outcome, fetus development as well as the child's health after birth and during the later period of life. Data coming from epidemiological and interventions studies support the observation that carotenoids intake provide positive health effects in adults and the elderly population. These health effects are the result of their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
