Background: Silicon has an important role in regulating water management in plants. It is deposited in cell walls and creates a mechanical barrier against external factors. The aim of this study was to determine the role of silicon supplementation in the synthesis and distribution of callose in oilseed rape roots and to characterize the modifications of cell wall structure of these organs after exposure to drought stress.

Effect of Ayurveda and Siddha interventions in the management of chronic lymphocytic leukemia: A case report.

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is a hematological malignancy marked by the clonal proliferation of the mature, yet dysfunctional B lymphocytes in blood and its subsequent infiltration of the marrow, lymphoid tissues and spleen. The resultant immune dysfunction exposes the body to multiple infections and is a cause of major mortality. Here, we discuss the case of a 46-year-old male suffering from CLL who presented with long-standing episodes of low-grade fever, productive cough and throat irritation, lethargy and pedal edema.

The Gender-Sensitive Depression Screening GSDS-26 - Polish adaptation and validation of the tool and links to gender stereotypes.

Objectives: The study aimed to create a Polish version of the Gender-Sensitive Depression Screening (GSDS-26) by AM Möller-Leimkühler and to assess its validity and reliability. The tool measures the overall level of depression and the following factors: depressiveness, stress perception, aggressiveness, emotional control, alcohol consumption, and risky behavior. The relationships between depression measured by the GSDS 25 and the subjects' adjustment to stereotypical male roles were also checked.

The aim of the study was to obtain a dye from black elder fruits and flowers and to study their potential in production of jellies with high antioxidant activity.
