Rituximab (RTX) plus chemotherapy (R-CHOP) applied as a first-line therapy for lymphoma leads to a relapse in approximately 40% of the patients. Therefore, novel approaches to treat aggressive lymphomas are being intensively investigated. Several RTX-resistant (RR) cell lines have been established as surrogate models to study resistance to R-CHOP.

All the collected EVs expressed canonical tetraspanins (CD9, CD63, and CD81) highly coexpressed with molecules such as lysosome-associated membrane protein-1 (LAMP1-CD107a), sialomucin core protein 24 (CD164), Raph blood group (CD151), and integrins (ITGB1 and ITGA2). This representation of the protein molecules on the EV surface may provide valuable information on NSCLC subtypes and offer new diagnostic opportunities as next-generation biomarkers in personalized oncology.

Tetraspanins, including CD9, CD63, and CD81, are transmembrane biomarkers that play a crucial role in regulating cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis, as well as plasma membrane dynamics and protein trafficking. In this study, we developed simple, fast, and sensitive immunosensors to determine the concentration of extracellular vesicles (EVs) isolated from human lung cancer cells using tetraspanins as biomarkers. We employed surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM-D) as detectors.

It is characterized by specific gene rearrangements and both myogenic and neural differentiation. The purpose of the study was to describe the histologic, immunohistochemical and molecular features of BSNS and indicate important clues for small incisional biopsy diagnostics.

Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is typically a high-grade breast cancer with poorest clinical outcome despite available treatment modalities with chemo-, immuno- and radiotherapy. The status of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) is a prognostic factor closely related to programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expressed on T lymphocytes modulating antitumor immunity. Immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) are showing promising results in a subset of breast cancer patients in both neo- and adjuvant settings.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine human papillomavirus (HPV) status and genotypes, the HPV status-dependent survival, and the applicability of the eighth TNM classification in Polish patients diagnosed with oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC).
Study Design: All patients with primary OPSCC, diagnosed and treated from 2007 to 2017 at the National Research Institute of Oncology, Warsaw, Poland, who underwent radical radiotherapy were included. The Kaplan-Meier method was deployed to produce 3- and 5-year observed survival (OS) estimates.
Unlabelled: Esophageal squamous cell papilloma (ESP) is recognised rarely. Usually it is the finding of diagnostic esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD). It is considered as asymptomatic benign lesion, in most cases solitary.

Recent genomic CRISPR-Cas9 screens further highlighted oncogenic functions of PIMs in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) cells, justifying the development of small-molecule PIM inhibitors and therapeutic targeting of PIM kinases in lymphomas. However, detailed consequences of PIM inhibition in DLBCL remain undefined.

Background And Objective: Dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) is characterized by non-lipogenic sarcoma fields coexisting with adipocyte-rich well-differentiated areas. Amplification of the 12q13-15 region includes the MDM2 and DDIT3 genes. MDM2 amplification is considered a genetic hallmark of DDLPS, while DDIT3 is typically rearranged in myxoid liposarcoma.

Aim: The aim of the study was to present the case of local recurrence of atypical fibrous histiocytoma in scar after the primary excision.
Immunomodulatory drugs (IMiDs) are effective in the treatment of multiple myeloma (MM), myelodysplastic syndrome with deletion of chromosome 5q and other haematological malignancies. Recent studies showed that IMiDs bind to cereblon (CRBN), a substrate receptor of the CRL4-CRBN complex, to induce the ubiquitination and degradation of IKZF1 and IKZF3 in MM cells, contributing to their anti-myeloma activity. We aimed to determine whether the CRL4-CRBN complex proteins' expression predicts the prognosis of MM patients treated with IMiDs.

Our analysis of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients revealed stage-dependent alterations in the expression of 112 endocytosis-related genes. Among them, transcription of the endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT)-I component was decreased in the advanced stages of CRC.

In a molecularly related B-cell malignant tumor (classic Hodgkin lymphoma), tumor Reed-Sternberg cells overexpress oncogenic (proviral integration site for Moloney murine leukemia virus (PIM) 1, 2, and 3 kinases in a NF-κB- and STAT-dependent manner and PIMs enhance survival and expression of immunomodulatory molecules. Given the multiple overlapping characteristics of Reed-Sternberg and PMBL cells, we hypothesized that PIM kinases may be overexpressed in PMBL and involved in PMBL pathogenesis.

The aim of the study was to assess the potential value of POD24 in FL and describe the enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) expression profile, in correlation with clinical/histopathological/immunophenotypical characteristics.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective single-center study included 75 patients with FL treated under watch and wait (W&W) and immunochemotherapy regimens.
Available epidemiological reports on follicular lymphoma (FL) often highlight a significant discrepancy between its high and low incidence rates in Western and Eastern Europe, respectively. The reasons behind that difference are not fully understood, but underreporting is typically presumed as one of the main factors. This study aimed to assess FL epidemiology in Poland based on 2000-2014 data from the Polish National Cancer Registry, which has 100% population coverage and over 90% completeness of the registration.

Follicular lymphoma (FL) is a well-studied microenvironment-dependent hematological malignancy, but the crosstalk between various involved cell subtypes is still not fully understood. Recent promising results of immunotherapy in recurrent FL warrant the need for an in-depth analysis of the expression and role of immune system-related proteins in the FL microenvironment. Seventy-one patients with FL and available diagnostic paraffin blocks were enrolled in the retrospective analysis.

In this study, we searched for new targets of MiR-155 potentially involved in deregulation of the B-cell receptor pathway (BCR) in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We report that MiR-155 represses DEPTOR (an mTOR phosphatase) and c-CBL (SYK ubiquitin E3 ligase) through direct 3'-untranslated region interactions.

Introduction: Histopathological examination and immunohistochemistry (IHC) with a crucial role of CD10 expression remain a standard diagnostic tool in follicular lymphoma (FL). The results of IHC CD10 detection with different primary antibodies are not fully reproducible, but some reports show that flow cytometry (FCM) can be a reliable method of CD10 identification.
Methods: The aim of the study was to compare results of CD10 expression in FL by IHC and FCM including immunophenotypic features in the context of the BCL2 and BCL6 alterations.

Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is a rapidly growing tumor, characterized by high anabolic requirements. The oncogene plays a central role in the pathogenesis of this malignancy, controlling genes involved in apoptosis, proliferation, and cellular metabolism. Serine biosynthesis pathway (SBP) couples glycolysis to folate and methionine cycles, supporting biosynthesis of certain amino acids, nucleotides, glutathione, and a methyl group donor, S-adenosylmethionine (SAM).
