Bone Changes in Chronic Rhinosinusitis: Pathological or Physiological?

Bone remodelling is a normal physiological process which occurs in all bones. Hence bone changes should also be detected in undiseased or minimally diseased ethmoids as well as in chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) patients. To test this hypothesis, we compared ethmoid bone histology between two groups of patients; a study group of CRS patients and a group of patients whose radiological, endoscopic and symptom scores were significantly less when compared to the CRS group.

Long Term Versus Short Term Hearing Results in Endoscopic Sandwich Myringoplasty.

Introduction: The use of the endoscope in otological surgeries has both diagnostic and therapeutic values. It provides an excellent view in difficult nooks and corners. The use of endoscopic sandwich myringoplasty using cartilage and perichondrium has its benefit in hearing outcome and graft uptake in long-term follow-up.

Non-neoplastic Lesions among Lateral Neck Mass Specimens in a Tertiary Care Center: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.

Introduction: Lateral neck masses present clinically as neoplastic or non-neoplastic lesions of lymph nodes, salivary glands, and thyroid. Non-neoplastic lesions, if evaluated timely, may not transform into malignancy thus reducing clinical burden. A cytomorphological study using fine needle aspiration is a reliable method for the diagnosis of such masses.

A rare case of suppurative aspergillosis of the thyroid.

Suppurative fungal infection of the thyroid is an extremely rare condition even more so in an immunocompetent patient. Fungal infections of the thyroid usually occur in immunocompromised patients with hematological malignancies, recipients of bone marrow and solid organ allografts on immunosuppression, and patients with AIDS. A 65-year-old male presented with swelling in the front of the neck for 2 years.
