Purpose: The concept of emotional needs occupies a key place in Young's theory of early maladaptive schemas (EMS). The primary caregiver's attitude that is ineffective from the point of view of such needs leads to frustration, which is expressed in the personality of the child and in the resulting disorders. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between retrospective evaluation of parenting as a tool for meeting basic emotional needs and the neural correlates of personality - affective neuroscience emotional systems, according to the theory by Panksepp.

Young's early maladaptive schemas versus psychopathic traits in a non-clinical population.

Purpose: There is now evidence that certain psychopathic personality components have their roots in a dysfunctional family of origin. Looking at this phenomenon from the perspective of Jeffrey E. Young's theory, we can surmise that the early negative experiences of people with psychopathic personality traits may have influenced the formation of specific maladaptive schemas.

Expression of and oestrogen receptor encoding gene and personality traits - preliminary study.

Introduction: The main objective of the study is to examine the hypothesis claiming a correlation between personality traits measured with the use of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI-2) personality questionnaire and the expression of the ERα () and ERβ () encoding gene in patients suffering from depression.

Material And Methods: The experiment was carried out on a group of 44 individuals with depression. The Polish variant of the MMPI-2 was applied with the aim of assessing personality traits.
