The cancer atlas edited by several countries is the main resource for the analysis of the geographic variation of cancer risk. Correlating the observed spatial patterns with known or hypothesized risk factors is time-consuming work for epidemiologists who need to deal with each cancer separately, breaking down the patterns according to sex and race. The recent literature has proposed to study more than one cancer simultaneously looking for common spatial risk factors.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by multiple organ involvement and pronounced racial and ethnic heterogeneity. The aims of the present work were (1) to describe the cumulative clinical characteristics of those patients included in the Spanish Rheumatology Society SLE Registry (RELESSER), focusing on the differences between patients who fulfilled the 1997 ACR-SLE criteria versus those with less than 4 criteria (hereafter designated as incomplete SLE (iSLE)) and (2) to compare SLE patient characteristics with those documented in other multicentric SLE registries.RELESSER is a multicenter hospital-based registry, with a collection of data from a large, representative sample of adult patients with SLE (1997 ACR criteria) seen at Spanish rheumatology departments.

However, few studies have focused on how these programs may contribute to quality of life.
Objectives: Objectives for this exploratory study were: (a) to evaluate the potential effect of group music therapy program participation on the quality of life of older people with mild, moderate, and severe dementia living in a nursing home; (b) to identify and analyze changes in affect and participation that take place during music therapy sessions; and (c) to suggest recommendations and strategies for the design of future music therapy studies with people in various stages of dementias.

Objective: To analyze the quality of life of patients with different times of hemodialysis.
Introduction: There is much criticism on the quality of criminal data available in Brazil, but there lacks systematic studies to corroborate it. Thus, it was conducted a comparison between homicides registered in Minas Gerais by two public information systems.
Methods: The number of homicide deaths of the Mortality Information System of the Ministry of Health (SIM/MS) and Minas Gerais Military Police (PMMG), from 1979 to 1998, were assessed.
