Background: Chronic periodontitis is the most common dental disease reported globally as well as in India. Periodontal pathogens are usually seen in samples of gingival tissues, crevicular blood, GCF (gingival crevicular fluid), and dental plaque. Apart from the conventional mechanical treatment, laser disinfection is a recent advancement that change shows greater efficacy in reducing the disease progression and changing the bacterial flora.
