Labor market and regulatory processes - Nursing in Brazil.

The present article analyzes the job market of nursing professionals, based on data obtained through the survey "Nursing Profile in Brazil" (Cofen - Fiocruz), showing that a significant portion of these workers, mostly nursing aides and technicians, live in increasingly precarious conditions of survival, with low wages, multi-employment and insecurity in the work environment, which prevents them from performing their work activities with dignity. It also analyzes the Nursing regulation process, having as reference the sociology of professions, from the creation of the Federal Nursing Council/Regional Nursing Councils System, in the 1970s, when the category started to have self-regulation autonomy, and currently, the profession shows a robust and highly regulatory legal milestone, considering the number of resolutions issued by Cofen, which have an impact on professional practice. The article points out that it is essential for the government to develop and improve job management and regulation policies, in order to contribute to overcome the problems faced by nursing professionals.

Nursing technician training: qualification profile.

The identification of the current vocational training profile of nursing aides and technicians becomes a central element in understanding the dynamics of their qualification in several states, aiming to expose both the existence of trends for under- and overqualification and the participation of the public sector in the offer and expansion of nursing courses in the country. The article explores three relevant aspects of vocational training based on the results found in the research "Nursing Profile in Brazil (FIOCRUZ/COFEN)": the level of schooling/qualification; the geographical distribution and the governmental participation in the consolidation of the current situation. This is an analytical study based on the interpretation of indicators identified by Pearson's Asymmetry Coefficient.

Mapping nursing training in Brazil: challenges for actions in complex and globalized scenarios.

The article discusses the professional formation of nurses, implications of the increase in the number of Higher Education Institutions and their distribution in Brazil. It considers the results of the Nursing Profile Survey in Brazil, carried out with 35,916 nursing professionals, in 2013. The analysis that characterizes the trajectory of undergraduate nursing in this article is structured in three dimensions: the increase in the number of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing education institutions; the boom in nursing schools and the public vs.

Detection of human parvovirus B19 infection: a study of 212 suspected cases in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Background: Parvovirus B19 infections are associated with different clinical manifestations that vary from symptom-less to severe. The main clinical manifestations are erythema infectiosum or fifth disease, transient aplastic crisis in individuals with hemoglobinopathies, chronic anemia in the immunocompromised, acute polyarthralgia syndrome in adults, hydrops fetalis, spontaneous abortion and stillbirth. Although the classical features of B19 and rubella infections are distinct, uncommon presentations can lead to misdiagnosis.
