Rituximab induction therapy for de novo ANCA associated vasculitis in pregnancy: a case report.

Background: The diagnosis of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) associated vasculitis (AAV) is rare in pregnancy but potentially life threatening. There are no randomized controlled trials to guide the management of AAV in pregnancy and fetal safety data remains limited. Rituximab administration, a treatment for AAV, has been reported in pregnant women with reassuring fetal outcomes in the oncology and rheumatology literature; however, no published reports describe its use in AAV.

Advanced age is not a barrier to creating a functional arteriovenous fistula: a retrospective study.

Purpose: Improving arteriovenous fistula (AVF) patency is an integral part of the care of hemodialysis patients, often requiring procedures such as percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA). However, these interventions may fail to reduce AVF dysfunction and failure. The purpose of this study was to determine predictive factors for subsequent AVF failure post-PTA.

Proliferative glomerulonephritis with monoclonal IgG deposits secondary to chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Report of two cases.

Proliferative glomerulonephritis with monoclonal IgG deposits (PGNMID) is a recently described entity that is only rarely associated with a hematological or lymphoproliferative malignancy. We describe the cases of two men with preexisting chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) who developed endocapillary proliferative glomerulonephritis with nonorganized monoclonal IgG(1) deposits. One biopsy also showed CLL infiltration of the cortex.
