Endoscopy infection control strategy during the COVID-19 pandemic: experience from a tertiary cancer center in Brazil.

Objectives: Strategic planning for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) care has dominated the agenda of medical services, which have been further restricted by the need for minimizing viral transmission. Risk is particularly relevant in relation to endoscopy procedures. This study aimed to describe a contingency plan for a tertiary academic cancer center, define a strategy to prioritize and postpone examinations, and evaluate the infection rate among healthcare workers (HCWs) in the endoscopy unit of the Cancer Institute of the State of São Paulo (ICESP).

Quality of life in elderly with dizziness.

Aims: To evaluate the Quality of Life (QoL) in elderly subjects with dizziness, relate it with gender and age.

Material And Method: A prospective study comprising 120 elderly patients with dizziness evaluated with Brazilian versions of the Whoqol-bref and the dizziness handicap inventory (DHI).

Varicella zoster virus in Bell's palsy: a prospective study.

Unlabelled: Although Bell's palsy is the major cause of acute peripheral facial palsy, its pathogenesis remains unknown. Reactivation of the varicella zoster virus has been implicated as one of the main causes of Bell's palsy, however, studies which investigate the varicella zoster virus reactivation in Bell's palsy patients are mostly Japanese and, therefore, personal and geographic characteristics are quite different from our population.

Aims: To determine varicella zoster virus frequency in saliva samples from patients with Bell's palsy, using PCR.
