Occupational stress can exceed the workers' individual capacity to adapt, and cause psychopathological conditions, including adjustment disorder (AD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for which medico-legal reporting is mandatory by law. Since the early 2000s, an interdisciplinary diagnostic protocol has been in use at our Institute to address patients towards an appropriate therapeutic path, in order to promote their psychological well-being and work reintegration. In 2017, the protocol was updated and expanded.

Such systems need to create an empathic interaction with the users; therefore, it os required to include an Emotion Recognition (ER) framework which has to run, in near real-time, together with several other intelligent services. Most of the low-cost commercial robots, however, although more accessible by users and healthcare facilities, have to balance costs and effectiveness, resulting in under-performing hardware in terms of memory and processing unit.

Objectives: Commuting is generally described as a modern society issue; despite the relevance of this phenomenon, only few studies investigated occupational and health effects of commuting on workers exposed to it. According to the 15th census of the Italian population, in Italy about 29 millions of people (48,6% of total resident population) daily moved to reach their work. During last ten years, this number increased of about 2.

First, this work provides an overview of spoken dialogue systems by considering the underlying technologies, approaches, methods, and general issues. Then, the analysis focuses on studies, systems, and approaches that have investigated the role of dialogue systems and conversational agents in the interaction with elderly people with dementia by presenting the results of a literature review.

Health risks linked to temporary work in suspension are characterized both by infortunistic ones (for instance: trauma, falls, etc.) and by clinical ones, like the suspension trauma syndrome or compressive issues due to different fall protection systems.

Adults now represent two-thirds of patients with CHD; in the USA alone the number is estimated to exceed 1 million. Left ventricular non compaction (LVNC) is a cardiomyopathy due to an arrest of the normal development of myocardium which determines the persistence of fetal myocardium in postnatal life in at least 2/3 of the wall (criterion known as non compacted/ compacted ratio greater than 2). Although in absence of a confirmed prevalence of LVNC, reviewing literature shows an increasing number of reports over the years, though diagnosed cases represent just the tip of a realistically far wider phenomenon. Clinical manifestations are variable, ranging from the absence of any symptom to congestive heart failure, arrhythmias and systemic thromboembolism.

Methods: A total of 34 patients were evaluated in an average follow-up time of 93 months: 31 months without treatment, 31 months in treatment with nadolol or propanolol and 31 months in treatment with bisoprolol.
We report a case of acute myocardial infarction in an 8-year-old boy with a history of Kawasaki disease and giant coronary aneurysms in the right and left coronary arteries. We performed coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention 4 hours after the onset of symptoms. This case suggests that primary percutaneous coronary intervention might be safe and effective in the long-term treatment of acute myocardial infarction due to coronary sequelae of Kawasaki.

Over the last decade, a plethora of technologies have matured for measuring Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) at large scale, yielding comprehensive PPI networks for over ten species. In this chapter, we review methods for harnessing PPI networks to improve the detection of orthologous proteins across species.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFCardiomyopathies (CM) are a very rare disease in fetuses with a very poor outcome. Only isolated case reports and small case series were reported. According with published studies we will describe the fetal CM starting from their echocardiographic presentation: dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) with dilatation of either or both ventricles and impaired ventricular function, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) with different degree of disproportionate hypertrophy of the myocardial walls.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFNetwork querying is a growing domain with vast applications ranging from screening compounds against a database of known molecules to matching sub-networks across species. Graph indexing is a powerful method for searching a large database of graphs. Most graph indexing methods to date tackle the exact matching (isomorphism) problem, limiting their applicability to specific instances in which such matches exist.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Finding the subgraphs of a graph database that are isomorphic to a given query graph has practical applications in several fields, from cheminformatics to image understanding. Since subgraph isomorphism is a computationally hard problem, indexing techniques have been intensively exploited to speed up the process. Such systems filter out those graphs which cannot contain the query, and apply a subgraph isomorphism algorithm to each residual candidate graph.

Background: Noncompaction of left ventricular myocardium is a rare congenital cardiomyopathy resulting from an incomplete myocardial morphogenesis that leads to the persistence of the embryonic myocardium. This condition is characterized by a thin compacted epicardial and an extremely thickened endocardial layer with prominent trabeculations and deep intertrabecular recesses. It is not clear, in noncompaction of myocardium, whether intertrabecular recesses could be responsible for thrombi formation and thromboembolic complications.

To fully exploit the wealth of information in these graph databases, a key role is played by systems that search for all exact or approximate occurrences of a query graph.

Objectives: The noncompaction of the left ventricular myocardium is a rare congenital heart disease, characterized by an excessive prominence of trabecular meshwork, spaced out by deep intertrabecular recesses, consequent to the arrest of the normal myocardium embryogenesis. Although there are numerous descriptions, the physiopathological effects of the structural alterations, just like the clinical spectrum and the evolution of the disease, are not totally clarified. In the present study, we have evaluated the natural history of the disease, the familial incidence and the alterations of the systolic and diastolic function.

The coronary artery fistulas are rare congenital anomalies with a very low incidence. These can be symptomatic or asymptomatic because the hemodynamic consequences of the fistula vary and depend on the shunt dimensions. Discordant opinions instead are present in the literature for the defect closing in asymptomatic patients.
