Models of practice and training in psychotherapy: cross-national perspectives from Italy and Canada.

Internationally, there is ongoing concern about accessibility to mental health care and training. The goal of this study was to explore commonalities and differences within models of clinical psychology and psychotherapy in Ontario, Canada, and Lombardia, Italy, respectively, to inform improvements to the accessibility of mental health care and training. Using key informant sampling, we recruited ten students and professionals in Italy and Canada who study or work in psychology for semi-structured interviews.

Automated high-speed 3D imaging of organoid cultures with multi-scale phenotypic quantification.

Current imaging approaches limit the ability to perform multi-scale characterization of three-dimensional (3D) organotypic cultures (organoids) in large numbers. Here, we present an automated multi-scale 3D imaging platform synergizing high-density organoid cultures with rapid and live 3D single-objective light-sheet imaging. It is composed of disposable microfabricated organoid culture chips, termed JeWells, with embedded optical components and a laser beam-steering unit coupled to a commercial inverted microscope.

Evolution of physical activity and body weight changes in breast cancer survivors five years after diagnosis - VICAN 2 & 5 French national surveys.

Background: Regular physical activity (PA) and healthy body weight have proven benefits on survival in breast cancer (BC) survivors. We aimed to define predictors of long-term PA and weight gain in a representative sample of BC survivors.

Methods: Data were analysed from 723 women with BC who participated in both the 2012 and 2015 French National VICAN surveys.

Crowned dens syndrome diagnosed on ¹⁸F-FDG PET/CT.

An 87-year-old woman with corticosteroid-resistant polymyalgia rheumatica underwent ¹⁸F-FDG PET/CT for suspected giant cell arteritis or neoplastic disease. FDG uptake in the immediate vicinity of the odontoid process, with a crownlike calcification, was identified on the CT scan on the posterior side of the dens, thus confirming the diagnosis of crowned dens syndrome. Because this rare syndrome is frequently misdiagnosed, nuclear physicians should be aware of the signs and symptoms of this condition, which may call for the use of PET/CT imagery.

The effect of renal failure on 18F-FDG uptake: a theoretic assessment.

Unlabelled: This work addresses the issue of using (18)F-FDG PET in patients with renal failure.

Methods: A model analysis has been developed to compare tissue (18)F-FDG uptake in a patient who has normal renal function with uptake in a theoretic limiting case that assumes tracer plasma decay is tracer physical decay and is trapped irreversibly.

Results: This comparison has allowed us to propose, in the limiting case, that the usually injected activity be lowered by a factor of 3.

99mTc-HMPAO labelled white blood cell scintigraphy in patients with osteoarticular infection: the value of late images for diagnostic accuracy and interobserver reproducibility.

The objectives of this study were to evaluate the diagnostic value of 99mTc-HMPAO labelled white blood cell scintigraphy (WBCS) in patients with suspected osteomyelitis using late images and to study interobserver reproducibility. This study prospectively included 120 patients, and after a follow-up of one year, only 70 patients (n = 49 with implants, n = 21 without implants) were selected. The final diagnosis of infection was based either on microbiological data (n = 54) or follow-up (n = 16).

Six patients are presented as examples of investigation and treatment of dysphonic patients in the ENT Department of the Tenon hospital, Paris. Investigations include photography, recording and sometimes sonograms before and after treatment. The multiplication of similar records will eventually show whether laser surgery should be preferred to instrumental surgery.
