Hence, the present study evaluated an antioxidant molecule, sinapic acid, for sPLA-IIA inhibition as an anti-inflammatory function.

In our forthcoming work, both computational tools, such as molecular docking, quantum calculations, pharmaceutical kinetics, ADMET, and their molecular dynamics, as well as the experimental trial against WSSV, were executed to develop novel inhibitors. In the beginning, molecular docking was carried out to determine inhibitors of the four targeted proteins of WSSV (PDB ID: 2ED6, 2GJ2, 2GJI, and 2EDM), and to determine the binding energies and interactions of ligands and proteins after docking.

The biochemical characters of the tested tomato cultivars (tomato- 86, tomato- Alissa, tomato- Fayarouz, tomato- Omniya, tomato- 036, tomato- GS) were determined colorimetrically and characterized by using native- polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) and agarose gel. Our results showed that there were variations highly significant in all biochemical constituents of the resistant tomato cultivar (tomato- 86) compared with the susceptible one (tomato- GS).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcrylamide (ACR) has various effects on biological systems, including oxidative stress and its associated metabolic disorders. Previous research reports that plants growing at high altitude have a different profile of antioxidants. In the current report, the Taify pomegranate juice (TPJ) of the Taify pomegranate growing at the Taif region (high altitude), Saudi Arabia, was investigated for its protective activity from ACR-induced oxidative stress.

In this study, root and shoot length and biomass in addition to leaf chlorophyll score, PSII efficiency and photosynthetic performance index were adversely affected by Fe-deficiency and excess Fe. Fe and S concentrations in the root and shoot, as well as the increased root FCR activity, consistently decreased and increased, respectively, accompanied by elevated Zn levels under Fe deficiency and Fe toxicity.

Hence, this RBD is a critical target for the development of antiviral agents. Recent studies have discovered that SARS-CoV-2 variants with mutations in the RBD have spread globally.

Plant height, biomass, SPAD score, PSII efficiency, and photosynthetic performance index were all significantly reduced in Cd-stressed rice.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFHeat shock proteins (Hsps) are stress-responsive molecular chaperones, which uphold proper protein folding in response to external and internal stresses. The Hsp100 gene family plays a substantial role in thermos-tolerance of plants. This study investigated evolutionary relationship and expression of ClpB/Hsp100 gene family in tomato under heat stress.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIron (Fe) starvation in Strategy II plants is a major nutritional problem causing severe visual symptoms and yield reductions. This prompted us to investigate the physiological and molecular consequences of Fe deficiency responses at an early stage in sorghum plants. The Fe-starved sorghum did not show shoot biomass reduction, but the root length, biomass, and chlorophyll synthesis were severely affected.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIron (Fe) deficiency in plants hinders growth and yield. Thus, this study aims to elucidate the responses and molecular characterization of genes in Fe-deficient sunflower. The study was conducted on 14 days-old sunflower plants cultivated in hydroponic culture under Fe-sufficient and Fe-deficient conditions.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe COVID-19 corona virus has become a world pandemic which started in December 2019 in Wuhan, China with no confirmed biological source. Various countries reported the genomic sequence of different isolates obtained from infected patients. This allowed us to obtain a number of 38 isolates of full genomic sequences.

Despite extensive research on the molecular response to heat stress, the effect of high temperatures on genes and pathways remains unclear. This study investigated the expression of the HSP17 gene in nine Egyptian wheat varieties and the role of HSP17 promoter CpG methylation in the regulation of HSP17 under high temperature.

Obesity was induced by high fat diet (HFD), and testis RNA was used for the transcriptome analysis using RNAseq via Illumina NovaSeq 6000 System and NovaSeq 6000 Kit. Gene expression level was estimated as FPKM (Fragments Per Kilobase of transcript per Million mapped reads).

Due to the lack of transcriptomic and genomic data on lipid biosynthesis and accumulation, molecular marker breeding has been used to improve jojoba oil production and quality. In the current study, the transcriptome of developing jojoba seeds was investigated using the Illunina NovaSeq 6000 system, 100 × 10 paired end reads, an average length of 100 bp, and a sequence depth of 12 Gb per sample.
