The endoscopic features of gastric epithelial neoplasms of fundic gland mucosa lineage (GEN-FGML) have not been well investigated. We aimed to clarify the endoscopic features of GEN-FGML and differences between gastric adenocarcinoma of the fundic gland type (GA-FG) and fundic gland mucosa type (GA-FGM). A total of 62 GEN-FGML lesions, including 52 GA-FG and 10 GA-FGM, were retrospectively analyzed using endoscopic and clinicopathological findings to provide information of diagnostic value using white light imaging (WLI) and magnifying endoscopy with narrow-band imaging (M-NBI).

Although there has been significant progress in immune-checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) treatment, it remains controversial whether they should be used in the treatment of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We herein report the case of an NSCLC patient with uncommon complex EGFR mutations (G719S and L861Q) who was refractory to afatinib treatment but who showed a good response to pembrolizumab treatment. A 65-year-old female ex-smoker was diagnosed with right upper lobe NSCLC (clinical stage IVB; cT2bN3M1c).

The purpose of this study was to investigate the host response to systemically administered lipid nanoparticles (NPs) encapsulating plasmid DNA (pDNA) in the spleen using a DNA microarray. As a model for NPs, we used a multifunctional envelope-type nano device (MEND). Microarray analysis revealed that 1,581 of the differentially expressed genes could be identified by polyethylene glycol (PEG)-unmodified NP using a threefold change relative to the control.
