Background: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that all patients, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, should be offered family planning and contraceptive options without assumptions of sexual behaviors and pregnancy risk. Current research on family planning services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning patients is limited, but patients who are sexual or gender minorities are at increased risk for unintended pregnancy.
Objectives: The objective of this study was to describe contraceptive use in patients assigned female at birth with gender dysphoria at a gender-affirming primary care clinic.
Objective: To evaluate cardiovascular risk factors and prevalent coronary artery disease (CAD) using Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) scoring in transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) individuals receiving gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) and compare the CAC scores of TGD individuals with those of the general population.
Methods: TGD individuals aged ≥30 years, without known risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVD), other than tobacco use and family history of CVD, on GAHT were recruited, and baseline information, including metabolic parameters, was collected. CAC scores were obtained and compared with those of a cisgender age-matched population.
Purpose: Around 5% of United States (U.S.) population identifies as Sexual and Gender Diverse (SGD), yet there is limited research around cancer prevention among these populations.

The American College of Surgeons Risk Calculator (ACSRC) was created based on data from the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program to predict the risk of surgical complications on a patient-specific level. Whether the ACSRC can accurately predict the risk of postoperative complications following palliative procedures in cancer patients is unknown.

Methods: We developed a surgical elective encompassing a multiyear medical student curriculum, with the goal of improving students' understanding of global surgical care, consisting of a junior seminar and a senior clerkship. This student elective focused on the global burden of surgical disease, ethics of care in low-resource settings, and care of marginalized U.
5-HT(1B) autoreceptors have been implicated in animal models of stress and are regulated selectively by serotonin-selective reuptake inhibitors such as fluoxetine. These terminal autoreceptors regulate serotonin release from dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN) projections throughout rat forebrain. However, it has not been previously possible to manipulate 5-HT(1B) autoreceptor activity selectively without also changing 5-HT(1B) activity in other neurons mediating different behavioral responses.
