The use of a ternary mobile-phase system comprising ammonium sulphate, sodium chloride, and phosphate buffer was explored to tune retention and enhance selectivity in hydrophobic interaction chromatography. The accuracy of the linear solvent-strength model to predict protein retention with the ternary mobile-phase system based on isocratic scouting runs is limited, as the extrapolated retention factor at aqueous buffer conditions (k) cannot be reliably established. The Jandera retention model utilizing a salt concentration averaged retention factor (k¯) in aqueous buffer for ternary systems overcomes this bottleneck.

To investigate the process performance and robustness, the pilot plant was operated at varying current densities, load ratio (current to nitrogen loading), and in continuous and intermittent current (Donnan) mode. A higher load ratio led to higher total ammonium nitrogen (TAN, sum of ammonia and ammonium) removal efficiency, whereas the increase in the applied current did not have a significant impact the TAN removal efficiency.

Introduction: To improve detection of child abuse and neglect (CAN), many emergency departments use screening methods. Apart from diagnostic accuracy, possible harms of screening methods are important to consider, especially because most children are not abused and do not benefit from screening. Methods: A multidisciplinary team defined criteria for the desired DA as to design, medical content and functionality, particularly for elderly users. Development was according to the international standard (IPDAS).
Movements of the lower limbs during gait have been analysed extensively whereas data on upper body movements are scarce. The aim of this study was to evaluate upper body movements during gait in nine healthy children and 10 children with diplegic cerebral palsy. Children were investigated using a full-body marker set to calculate the upper body kinematics of trunk and arms.
