Opportunistic observations of Erabu sea kraits (Laticauda semifaciata) provide evidence that this species undertake a novel foraging tactic; coordinated communal hunting. Erabu sea kraits prey on cryptic fish species in highly complex reef habitats. Intra- and interspecific cooperative hunting strategies may increase chances for all members of the hunting party to encounter and capture prey in these complex habitats.

The incidence and content of sFas in the plasma from patients with adrenal tumors was significantly higher than in healthy donors. A direct correlation was found between sFas content and patient's age.

Altogether 92 patients with chronic adrenal insufficiency, diencephalic endocrine syndromes and Icenko-Cushing disease underwent clinical examinations, measurements of the systemic, cerebral hemodynamics and concentration of cortical hormones and medullary substance of the adrenals. Different concentrations of cortisol, aldosterone and catecholamines have been shown to produce varying effects on the blood flow. The role of each of them as well as the interrelation between the hormonal and autoregulation systems have been outlined.

Hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) was used for the treatment of 64 patients suffering from parkinsonism of different etiology. HBO sessions were provided daily, 8-12 per course, the treatment pressure amounted to 1.3-2 atm exposure to 40-60 minutes.

The concentration of steroid hormones adequately reflected adrenal cortex function facilitating differential diagnosis between renal and adrenal pathology variants. Differential diagnostic analysis on the basis of change in the concentration of steroid hormones was found difficult or impossible if the patients received steroidogenesis changing drugs on day, preceding veno graphic examination of the adrenals.
