: Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a critical complication of diabetes mellitus, posing significant health. While global studies have indicated a concerning lack of awareness regarding DKA among patients with diabetes, research specific to the northern area of Saudi Arabia remains limited. This study aims to explore the level of knowledge and awareness of DKA among patients with diabetes residing in the local region.

It is characterized by a high level of heterogeneity that emerges from the interaction of several cellular and soluble components in the tumor microenvironment (TME), such as cytokines, tumor cells and tumor-associated immune cells. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor 2 (TNFR2) appears to play a significant role in microenvironmental regulation, tumor progression, immune evasion, drug resistance, and metastasis of many types of cancer, including BC.

Current strategies using antibodies to target PD-1/PD-L1 have been very effective in cancer therapeutics and companion diagnostics. Aptamers are a new class of molecules that offer an alternative to antibodies.

However, to date, there is no national data on blood culture contamination and the common organism isolated in Malaysia. This is a pioneer multi-centre study involving public hospitals with medical microbiologists in Malaysia to determine the blood culture contamination rate and the common organism isolated.

Methods: Forty SLE patients and forty healthy control cases were included in the study. Disease activity was assessed by the Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index 2000 (SLEDAI-2 K), and quality of life was assessed by Lupus QoL.
Purpose: Azole resistance in poses a significant challenge in the management of invasive aspergillosis. This study aimed to investigate the antifungal susceptibility and mutation profiles of isolates in Malaysia.
Patients And Methods: Sixty clinical isolates were collected and subjected to antifungal susceptibility testing (AFST) and molecular analysis.

Next-generation sequencing technologies enables for unprecedented enumeration of human resident gut microorganisms, conferring novel insights into the role of the microbiota in health and individuals with breast cancer. A growing body of research on microbial dysbiosis seems to indicate an elevated risk of health complications including cancer.

However, the potential of the fungal microbiome as a putative biomarker for the detection of colorectal adenocarcinoma has not been extensively explored. We analyzed the viability of implementing the fungal mycobiome for this purpose.

A mountable array of MOX sensors was developed so that the angles and distances among the sensors, alongside sensors data, were utilized to identify the influx of gas plumes. Gas dispersion experiments under indoor conditions were conducted to train machine learning algorithms to collect data at numerous locations and angles.

Utilising two distinct indices, the climate vulnerability index (CVI) and the country-specific geopolitical risk (CGPR) indices, we find that countries with high vulnerability to climate change are more likely to experience geopolitical conflicts. Further analysis reveals that country-level overall economic, social, and governance (ESG) readiness significantly mitigates this detrimental effect.

The inclusion of ingredients derived from pigs in highly processed consumer products poses a significant challenge for DNA-targeted analytical enforcement, which could be overcome by using digital PCR. However, most species detection methods use digital PCR to target single-copy nuclear genes, which limits their sensitivity. In this work, we examined the performance of a nanoplate-based digital PCR method that targets multi-copy nuclear (MPRE42) and mitochondrial (Cyt) genes.

In the study of cancer metastasis, epigenetics has been revealed to play a crucial role in supporting tumour immune evasion. As a result, epigenetic drugs have been identified as potential agents to activate anti-tumour immune responses and reverse tumour immunologically tolerant states.

Background: Phosphatidylinositol-3-kinases (PI3K) is a well-known route in inflammation-related cancer. Recent discovery on PI3K-related genes revealed a potential variant that links ulcerative colitis (UC) and colorectal cancer (CRC) with colitis-associated cancer (CAC). PI3K/AKT pathway has been recommended as a potential additional therapeutic option for CRC due to its substantial role in modifying cellular processes.
