In this study, an in-house constructed paper-based spectrophotometer is presented and demonstrated for detecting three organic dyes, namely, methylene blue, malachite green, and rhodamine B, and monitoring the efficiency of their removal from a wastewater sample with Sistan sand as a costless adsorbent. The compact design and light weight of this simple spectrophotometer delivered portability, with materials costing less than a dollar. Spectral analysis of the captured images was performed using free downloadable software from the Google Play store.

In this study, cellulosic sisal fibre was modified simultaneously by polypyrrole-polyaniline nanoparticles and it was employed as a cost-effective, non-toxic nano bio-composite for the elimination of ibuprofen. It was characterized by SEM, EDAX, FTIR, and XRD.

Factors affecting adsorption of the analytes on the sorbent were investigated experimentally and by using Taguchi and Plackett-Burman experimental design methods. In most cases, the results of these two models were in agreement with each other and with experimental data obtained.

This study aimed to investigate the efficiency of 3A zeolite as a novel adsorbent for removal of Rhodamine B and Malachite green dyes from water samples. To increase the removal efficiency, effecting parameters on adsorption process were investigated and optimized by adopting Taguchi design of experiments approach. The percentage contribution of each parameter on the removal of Rhodamine B and Malachite green dyes determined using ANOVA and showed that the most effective parameters in removal of RhB and MG by 3A zeolite are initial concentration of dye and pH, respectively.

DON was determined using a high performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detection (HPLC-DAD). AA-DLLME was performed using a glass syringe and dispersion of extractant in the sample solution was achieved with help of air bubbles.
