Background: Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIAs) are a common reason for Emergency Department (ED) visits and represent a significant public health issue. Patients experiencing TIAs often face significant delays in undergoing various tests due to ED overcrowding and limited availability of neurologists. Emergency physicians (EPs) and neurologists have identified several criteria for allowing outpatient management.

Amoxicillin causes dose-dependent toxicities, in particular crystal nephropathy. Toxicity could be avoided by monitoring of amoxicillin trough plasma concentrations (ATPC).

Cerebral computed tomography (CT), used as the first-line investigation to detect bleeding, has excellent sensitivity if performed promptly, but its sensitivity falls sharply with the time elapsed since the onset of SAH. Oxyhemoglobin and bilirubin, the breakdown products of heme, are detectable in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) by spectrophotometric absorption, which defines the search for xanthochromia pigment in CSF.

Methods: A systematic review was performed in PubMed and Reprotox using the search terms: "gabapentin", "pregabalin", "antiepileptic drugs" and terms associated with pregnancy.
The higher incidence of migraines in women compared with men has led to the inclusion of female animals in pain research models. However, the critical role of the hormonal cycle is frequently overlooked, despite its clear correlation with migraine occurrences. In this study, we show in a rat model of migraine induced by repeated dural infusions of an inflammatory soup (IS) that a second IS (IS2) injection performed in proestrus/estrus (PE, high estrogen) female rats evokes higher cephalic mechanical hypersensitivities than when performed in metestrus/diestrus (MD, low estrogen) or ovariectomized (OV) rats.

However, in the last three years, new data have come to light and new drugs have been approved (eptinezumab, rimegepant and atogepant) by the European Medicines Agency that require us to take a position on their use and to update certain elements of the recommendations. The first important message concerns the position of the French Headache Society on the use of preventive treatments (monoclonal antibodies and gepants) targeting the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) pathway.

Methods: In this monocentric prospective study, neurofilament light (NFL), T-tau, p-tau181, p-tau217, Aβ40, and Aβ42 were measured in serum collected from orthopedic patients (control group, n=114) and patients in the neurology department (n=69) previously diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease (AD, n=52), parkinsonian syndromes (n=10), and other etiologies of neurodegeneration (non-AD, n=7).
Results: In the control group, serum NFL, T-tau, p-tau181, p-tau217, and Aβ40 significantly increased with age, independently of sex.
Background And Objectives: People with multiple sclerosis (MS) have an increased risk of severe coronavirus infection due to their level of motor disability or exposure to certain immunosuppressive treatments. Thus, patients with MS have had priority access to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination. However, relapses after vaccination have been reported, leading some patients to not seek the recommended booster doses.

Thus, there are two paradigms for patients living closer to a primary stroke center (PSC) than a comprehensive stroke center (CSC) capable of MT: "Mothership" (direct referral to a CSC) and "Drip-and-Ship" (referral to a PSC for imaging and thrombolysis and transfer to a CSC for thrombectomy or monitoring). We aimed to compare the prognosis of patients at three months between the two paradigms in a rural area.

Background And Objectives: Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) is a severe neurologic disease resulting from JC virus reactivation in immunocompromised patients. Certain multiple sclerosis (MS) disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) are associated with PML risk, such as natalizumab and, more rarely, sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor modulators (S1P-RMs). Although natalizumab-associated PML is well documented, information on S1P-RM-associated PML is limited.

In 2015, international guidelines (NeuPSIG) were published, while the French recommendations were updated in 2020. The purpose of this minireview is to provide an update on the process of developing evidence-based recommendations and explore potential changes to the current recommendations.

This study aimed to assess the incidence and prevalence rates of myasthenia gravis in France based on data extracted from the French National Health Insurance Claims Database (the SNIIRAM database).
Methods: We conducted a retrospective repeated cross-sectional population study from 2008 to 2018 using a representative sample of the French population (Échantillon généraliste des bénéficiaires) covered by health insurance.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis relies on signs of progressive damage to both lower motoneuron (LMN), given by clinical examination and electromyography (EMG), and upper motoneuron (UMN), given by clinical examination only. Recognition of UMN involvement, however, is still difficult, so that diagnostic delay often remains too long. Shortening the time to clinical and genetic diagnosis is essential in order to provide accurate information to patients and families, avoid time-consuming investigations and for appropriate care management.

We present here the different steps that have been performed to validate small beams by conical collimators, and report the clinical results of the first patients treated on Novalis Tx®, frameless.
Material And Methods: First, the geometric accuracy of 4 and 6mm conical collimators was evaluated using Winston-Lutz tests; then dosimetric data acquisition was performed using high spatial resolution detectors (PTW 60019 microdiamond and a PTW 60017 E-diode).
Background: Epidemiological data reveal that 45% of persons with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) in France are more than 50 years. This population more than 50 is more susceptible to cancer, and this risk may be increased by frequent use of immunosuppressive drugs. Consequently, concerns have arisen about the potential increased risk of cancer in PwMS and how patients should be screened and managed in terms of cancer risk.

Chronic pain is a common nonmotor symptom that affects up to 80% of patients with (Pw) PD both in prodromal phases and during the subsequent stages of the disease, negatively affecting patient's quality of life and function. Pain in PwPD is rather heterogeneous and may occur because of different mechanisms.

Currently, four monoclonal antibodies targeting the CGRP (calcitonin gene-related peptide) pathway have been shown to be effective as migraine prophylactics: eptinezumab, erenumab, fremanezumab and galcanezumab. Unlike the usual preventive treatments, they are administered parenterally: subcutaneously (monthly or quarterly) or by quarterly IV infusion for eptinezumab.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common chronic inflammatory neurological disease. The emergence of disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) has greatly improved disease activity control and progression of disability in MS patients. DMTs differ in their mode of action, route of administration, efficacy, and safety profiles, offering multiple options for clinicians.

Objective: We aimed to develop and validate a dynamic score to guide the early decision to switch from first- to second-line therapy.
Methods: Using time-dependent propensity scores (PS) from a French cohort of 12,823 patients with RRMS, we constructed one training and two validation PS-matched cohorts to compare the switched patients to second-line treatment and the maintained patients.
