Status epilepticus is linked to cognitive decline due to damage to the hippocampus, a key structure involved in cognition. The hippocampus's high vulnerability to epilepsy-related damage is the main reason for this impairment. Convulsive seizures, such as those observed in status epilepticus, can cause various hippocampal pathologies, including inflammation, abnormal neurogenesis, and neuronal death.

The study focused on rhamnolipid production by batch fermentation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa USM-AR2 in a 3-L stirred-tank reactor (STR) using palm sludge oil (PSO) as the sole carbon source. The impact of various agitation rates towards the dispersion of PSO in the medium was evaluated to improve biomass growth and rhamnolipid production. A mechanical foam collection and recycling system was designed and retrofitted to the STR to overcome severe foam formation during fermentation.

Background: The diagnostic test for vasovagal syncope (VVS), the most common cause of syncope is head-up tilt test (HUTT) assessment. During the test, subjects experienced clinical symptoms such as nausea, sweating, pallor, the feeling of palpitations, being on the verge of passing out, and fainting. The study's goal is to develop an algorithm to classify VVS patients based on physiological signals blood pressure (BP) and electrocardiography (ECG) obtained from the HUTT.

Marine ecosystems in Antarctica are thought to be highly vulnerable to aspects of dynamic global climate change, such as warming. In deep-water ecosystems, there has been little physico-chemical change in seawater there for millions of years. Thus, some benthic organisms are likely to include strong potential indicators of environmental changes and give early warnings of ecosystem vulnerability.
