Co-anaerobic digestion of sawdust and chicken manure with plant herbs: Biogas generation and kinetic study.

Plant herbs specifically (SW) and peppermint (PPM) are selected for its insect repellent properties as the use of chicken manure (CM) in anaerobic digestion (AD) potentially attract flies due to the digestate produced. Hence, the addition of SW and PPM in the AD system of CM could deter flies' infestation while producing biogas. Previous work has shown that AD of sawdust (SD) and CM with these plant herbs were able to produce biogas and reduce the flies attraction towards the digestate.

Application of Neural Network in Predicting HS from an Acid Gas Removal Unit (AGRU) with Different Compositions of Solvents.

The gas sweetening process removes hydrogen sulfide (HS) in an acid gas removal unit (AGRU) to meet the gas sales' specification, known as sweet gas. Monitoring the concentration of HS in sweet gas is crucial to avoid operational and environmental issues. This study shows the capability of artificial neural networks (ANN) to predict the concentration of HS in sweet gas.

Exogenous ethylene application on postharvest oil palm fruit bunches improves crude palm oil quality.

Quality and food safety are of paramount importance to the palm oil industry. In this work, we investigated the practicability of ethylene gas exogenous application on post-harvested oil palm fruit bunches to improve the crude palm oil (CPO) quality. The bunches were first exposed to ethylene gas for 24 hr to induce abscission of palm fruits from bunches.

Greener Pretreatment Approaches for the Valorisation of Natural Fibre Biomass into Bioproducts.
