Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate serum cystatin C as a potential biomarker for diabetic retinopathy (DR) in a rural Indian population, addressing the urgent need for effective screening tools amidst rising diabetes prevalence.
Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional study recruited 112 patients with diabetes mellitus from Sambalpur, Odisha, India, categorized into groups with and without DR. Serum cystatin C levels were measured alongside clinical and demographic parameters, using established diagnostic methods.
Postpartum care, including contraception, benefits maternal health and decreases mortality, which increased in the United States with COVID-19. Pandemic disruptions to postpartum health care access in vulnerable populations are not well understood. We utilize electronic health record (EHR) data for prenatal patients ( = 2,265) at six urban Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) from one year prepandemic (January 1, 2019) through one year after the first stay-at-home orders ("lockdown") (March 31, 2021).

However, it is uncertain whether users would be willing to wear these sensor garments long term.
Objective: Our objective was to explore whether users would wear ordinary looking knitted garments with unobtrusive knitted-in breathing sensors long term to monitor their lung health and under what conditions.
Methyl orange (MO) and methylene blue (MB) dyes are toxic and carcinogenic; thus, their presence in water bodies has been a major concern. Designing an efficient adsorbent for removal of these dyes is a scientific challenge for researchers. In this work, a polypyrrole-tannic acid nanocomposite was prepared via a chemical oxidation method and used as a novel adsorbent for removing these toxic dyes.

The bulk production of flagellin with retention of all conformational epitopes using recombinant protein technology is of paramount importance in the development of pathogen-specific immuno-assays and vaccines. We describe the production of highly soluble and immuno-reactive rFliA(C) protein of Clostridium chauvoei, a causative agent of blackleg or black quarter (BQ) affecting cattle and small ruminants worldwide.

This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to elucidate the differential expression of immunohistochemical markers between AB and AC.
Methods: We conducted a thorough search of PUBMED and SCOPUS according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines to identify cross-sectional studies that compared the expression of immunohistochemical markers in AB and AC.
Objectives: To evaluate the current evidence of digital workflow feasibility based on the data acquisition methods and the software tools used to fabricate intraoral prostheses for patients with partial or total maxillary and mandibular defects.
Materials And Methods: An electronic search was performed in PubMed, SCOPUS, and Web of Science using a combination of relevant keywords: digital workflow, digital designing, computer-assisted design-computer aided manufacturing, 3D printing, maxillectomy, and mandibulectomy. The Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Tool was used to assess the quality of evidence in the studies reviewed.
Objectives: Hypertension affects 1 in 3 adults in the United States and disproportionately affects African Americans. Kaiser Permanente demonstrated that a "bundle" of evidence-based interventions significantly increased blood pressure control rates. This paper describes a multiyear process of developing the protocol for a trial of the Kaiser bundle for implementation in under-resourced urban communities experiencing cardiovascular health disparities during the planning phase of this biphasic award (UG3/UH3).

The complications of hypertension disproportionately impact African American residents in Chicago's South Side neighborhood. To inform the implementation of an evidence-based multilevel hypertension management intervention, we sought to identify community member- and clinician-level barriers to diagnosing and treating hypertension, and strategies for addressing those barriers.

Study Design: We used a prospective cohort design and enrolled recent PPIUD adopter women across 100 public healthcare facilities in Odisha and Chhattisgarh, India. We collected their socio-demographic information and followed them up telephonically at 6 weeks, 6 months and 1 year for complications and continuation status.
Background: Up to 20% of youth have impairing mental health problems as early as age 3. Early identification and intervention of mental health risks in pediatric primary care could mitigate this crisis via prevention prior to disease onset. The purpose of this study was to establish the feasibility and acceptability of implementing a brief transdiagnostic screening instrument in pediatric primary care for irritability and corollary impairment.

Communication about social-emotional well-being can be challenging for primary care clinicians for various reasons including lack of time, training and expertise, resource constraints, and cognitive burden. Therefore, we explored clinicians' perspectives on identifying and communicating with caregivers about social-emotional risk in toddlers.

The purpose of this study is to systematically review studies (both clinical and in vitro) and determine whether intraoral scanners have clinically acceptable accuracy when recording completely edentulous arches for the fabrication of removable complete dentures. An electronic search in medical databases like PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science (WOS), using a combination of relevant keywords, retrieved 334 articles.

This retrospective analysis of electronic health record data from 24 Federally Qualified Health Centers assessed effectiveness and accuracy of the 2-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-2) for depression screening and Generalized Anxiety Disorder 2 (GAD-2) for anxiety screening from 2019 to 2021. Scores of over 91% of PHQ-2 and GAD-2 tests indicated low likelihood of depression or anxiety, which diverged markedly from published literature on screening outcomes.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is still the gold standard for the exploration of the biliopancreatic region.
Aim: The aim of the study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of MRCP with that of ERCP in the diagnosis of bile duct and pancreatic duct pathologies.
