Introduction: Inadequate prescription communication skills of the medical graduates lead to poor therapeutic outcome and increased burden on the healthcare system. This gap has to be addressed through effective methods for teaching prescription communication skills to medical students. Appendicitis as a cause of intestinal strangulation: a case report and review.

Intestinal obstruction is a common surgical emergency caused by varied conditions. Appendicitis as a cause is both uncommon and unsuspected. Strangulation of intestine caused by appendicitis is extremely rare with very few cases reported in literature.
