Introduction: Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis (IGM) is an inflammatory breast disorder of unknown etiology. This benign condition can mimic the clinical presentation of breast cancer and is characterized by symptoms such as breast pain, erythema, and swelling. Over the past few years, Disease-Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs (DMARDs) have been increasingly used to manage this condition.

Young Female With Hypereosinophilia, Rash, and Gait Disturbance: A Case Report.

Eosinophilia is known to be associated with a multitude of co-morbidities. However, unexplained eosinophilia poses a diagnostic challenge, and the methods used to investigate unexplained eosinophilia vary from region to region. In this case report, we describe a unique case of a young female presenting with marked eosinophilia to a tertiary hospital in the northeastern United States.

Outcomes and resource utilization in calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty: a cross-sectional analysis.

This cross-sectional study aims to evaluate the predictors, outcomes, and resource utilization of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease (CPPD) patients. We used the US National Inpatient Sample database to identify CPPD and non-CPPD who underwent TKA from 2006 to 2014. Data collection included patient demographics and comorbidities.

Burn center admissions of patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases: clinical characteristics and outcomes.

The ojective of this study was to describe the reasons for admission to the burn center of patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARD), identify their clinical characteristics, and assess their outcomes relative to the non-ARD patients. We conducted a retrospective study of ARD patients admitted to a burn center from 2011 to 2018, and they were compared with a non-ARD group of patients. Medical records were reviewed for patients' clinical characteristics, including demographics, ARD diagnosis, laboratory studies, and APACHE II score.

Purpose Of Review: Giant cell arteritis is a systemic large vessel vasculitis that affects the older population and can cause progressive and at times, devastating complications including vision loss. While this has been commonly diagnosed and treated among vasculitides, the treatment options are limited and can have long-term adverse effects. The purpose of our review on GCA is to identify and discuss the pathophysiology and clinical aspects of GCA as they relate to the most recent data.
