Fabrication of custom overdenture attachments using indigenously made parallelometer: A technique.

Various types of attachments have been used during overdenture fabrication; however, no single attachment is perfect for every case. Irrespective of the attachment used, it is important to maintain parallelism between the attachments for ease of insertion and removal, functional efficiency, and durability of the prosthesis. It is challenging to obtain parallelism between attachments when the abutments are divergent, or multiple abutments are engaged.

Effect of Dietary Simulating Solvents on the Mechanical Properties of Provisional Restorative Materials-An In Vitro Study.

The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the mechanical properties of provisional restorative materials after storage in dietary simulating solvents. A total of 120 specimens, 40 specimens each of Luxatemp Star, Revotek LC and DPI Self Cure were prepared. Achieving ideal emergence profile and restoration contours for implant-supported prostheses in the anterior esthetic zone is a prime requisite. In this report, the patient presented with decreased restoration space and unfavorable tissue contours for an implant restoration. Correction of space deficiency and reshaping of excess bone height and soft tissue were planned and executed carefully prior to definitive restoration of a maxillary anterior missing tooth with an implant-retained prosthesis.
