This paper outlines a methodical approach for isolating 6-gingerol (1a) from rhizomes on a gram-scale, resulting in a product of high purity and significant yield. Further, 6-gingerol (1a) [SSG1] derivatives, including 1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)decane-3,5-dione (1ab), were synthesized via a semi-synthetic pathway involving DMP-mediated fast oxidation and replication. Subsequently, a new series of 1,4-benzodiazepines (3a-c) was synthesized quantitatively using a basic technique.

Citral (1a), a bioactive component of Cymbopogon citratus (lemongrass) could be isolated and semi-synthetic analogs synthesized with improved therapeutic properties. Herein we first report describes citral (1a) as a primary material for the synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives between various o-phenylenediamines (2a-l) in the presence of Diisopropylethylamine (DIPEA) as a commercially available environmentally benign base, ethanol as a green solvent and the yield of all benzimidazole derivatives (3a-l) was between 68-76 %; The semi-synthetically prepared benzimidazole derivatives (3a-l) were assessed for their anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. The benzimidazole compounds (3a-b, and 3g-j) exhibit good anti-microbial activity.

Antibiotic resistance is one of the significant problems globally; there is an increase in resistance with introducing every new class of antibiotics. Further, this has become one of the reasons for arising of new resistance mechanisms in . In this study, we have screened natural compounds as a possible inhibitor against the NDM-1 -lactamase enzyme from using a combination of methods and evaluation.

is widely used as a biocontrol agent, however, mechanisms by which it initiates the plants' defense response remains obscure. To gain an insight into the molecular changes that occur in plants upon plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria colonization, root transcriptome analysis by using a microarray was performed in rice using RRF3 (a rice rhizosphere isolate). Data analysis revealed a differential regulation of 61 transcripts (48 h post-treatment), of which, majority corresponded to defense response, cell wall modification and secondary metabolism.

Improper use of antibiotics has led to a great concern in the development of pathogenic microbial resistance. New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase 1 (NDM-1) producing bacteria are resistant to most of the β-lactam antibiotics, and so far, no new compounds have been clinically tested against these bacteria. In this study, ethanol extracts from the leaves of 240 medicinal plant species were screened for antibacterial activity against an NDM-1 strain.

Focus of the study is to identify a safe alternate to Hormone Replacement Therapy by identifying the presence of β-sitosterol and stigmasterol in the hydroalcoholic extract of Bambusa bambos using HPTLC and RP-HPLC-PDA; by evaluating the estrogenic effects of extract containing β-sitosterol and stigmasterol on the growth of MCF-7 cells in vitro. Plant material was identified by DNA sequencing analysis. Presence of β-sitosterol and stigmasterol was confirmed by HPTLC and direct RP-HPLC-PDA.

The US patented polyherbal formulation for the prevention and management of type II diabetes and its vascular complications was used for the present study. The xanthone glycoside mangiferin is one of the major effector constituents in the Salacia species with potential anti-diabetic activity. The pharmacokinetic differences of mangiferin following oral administration of pure mangiferin and polyherbal formulation containing Salacia species were studied with approximately the same dose 30 mg/kg mangiferin and its distribution among the major tissue in Wistar rats.

Quercetin and Rutin are most common flavone constituents of some herb extracts such as Hippophae rhamnoides L. Inter and intra herb pharmacokinetics interactions of Quercetin and Rutin were investigated in the present study. Pharmacokinetic study was investigated in the two groups of rats (n = 6) for pharmacokinetic interactions between the Quercetin and Rutin (2.
