Neurodegenerative diseases are a global health issue with inadequate therapeutic options and an inability to restore the damaged nervous system. With advances in technology, health scientists continue to identify new approaches to the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Lost or injured neurons and glial cells can lead to the development of several neurological diseases, including Parkinson's disease, stroke, and multiple sclerosis.

Acute spinal cord ischemia is diagnosed based on the clinical presentation along with consistent imaging, but since clinical manifestations of acute spinal cord ischemia- rapidly progressive motor, sensory, and autonomic dysfunction-overlap with a wide spectrum of myelopathies, a thorough diagnostic workup with consideration of inflammatory, infectious, compressive and nutritional etiologies is required to establish the diagnosis. In this report, we present the case of an 18-year-old female patient who was admitted with acute onset of severe lower back pain, progressive weakness, paralysis, loss of sensation in both lower limbs and voiding difficulties.

The causes of these outbreaks were coronaviruses that had infected birds, mammals and humans. The outbreaks predominantly caused respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract symptoms and other mild to very severe clinical signs.

However, recent studies suggest that a significant proportion of such episodes have a bacterial cause and are associated with mortality and growth impairment, especially among children at high risk of diarrhea-associated mortality. Expanding antibiotic use among dehydrated or undernourished children may reduce diarrhea-associated mortality and improve growth.

It has a wide range of therapeutic applications, such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antidiabetic, hepatoprotective, antibacterial, and anticancer effects against various cancers, but has poor solubility and low bioavailability. Objective: To improve curcumin's bioavailability, plasma concentration, and cellular permeability processes.

A USP Apparatus 4 was employed to develop and validate the method. The method was assessed based on time to reach nicotine dissolution plateau, percentage difference between two profiles at each time point, relative standard deviation (RSD), and f1 (similarity) and f2 (dissimilarity) values.

Background: Convalescent plasma has been widely used to treat COVID-19 and is under investigation in numerous randomized clinical trials, but results are publicly available only for a small number of trials. The objective of this study was to assess the benefits of convalescent plasma treatment compared to placebo or no treatment and all-cause mortality in patients with COVID-19, using data from all available randomized clinical trials, including unpublished and ongoing trials (Open Science Framework, https://doi.org/10.

Background And Aims: Although the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) developed some policy initiatives during the first phase of COVID-19, their efforts were questioned due to indecision, late policy decisions and implementation, and a proliferation of fake testing and fake news. As such, this research aims to examine public trust in preparedness and response measures undertaken by both the GoB and private sector organisations in Bangladesh between January and May 2020.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey method was applied to a sample of Bangladeshi residents using a questionnaire distributed between April and June 2020.

Background: Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) has improved the diagnosis and surgical treatment of brainstem and posterior fossa tumors. Several modalities are available for IONM such as electroencephalography, brainstem mapping (BSM), cranial nerves evoked potentials), somatosensory evoked potentials (SEP), motor evoked potentials (MEP), brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BAEPs), nerve conduction, and electromyography (EMG) signals. Though motor evoked potential (MEP) and brainstem mapping are the most common IONM modalities used for surgical management of brainstem gliomas, cranial nerve potentials can also be of great help.

Objective: This study aims to assess the patterns of COVID-19 severity and mortality in seven countries, and to determine the risk factors of COVID-19 severity and mortality.
Methods: This multicountry study was based on a retrospective review of medical records of hospitalized patients confirmed to have COVID-19.
Background: The impact of COVID-19 on physical and mental health and employment after hospitalisation with acute disease is not well understood. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of COVID-19-related hospitalisation on health and employment, to identify factors associated with recovery, and to describe recovery phenotypes.
Methods: The Post-hospitalisation COVID-19 study (PHOSP-COVID) is a multicentre, long-term follow-up study of adults (aged ≥18 years) discharged from hospital in the UK with a clinical diagnosis of COVID-19, involving an assessment between 2 and 7 months after discharge, including detailed recording of symptoms, and physiological and biochemical testing.
Aim: We aimed to evaluate the addition of fetal thigh circumference (TC) to other ultrasound parameters to predict fetal weight compared to two standard formulae (Hadlock's and Vintzileos methods).
Methods: We conducted this prospective study on pregnant women between November 2018 and September 2019. The actual fetal weight was estimated within 48 h of delivery; then, it was compared to the estimated fetal weight by ultrasound.
The cullin-4-based RING-type (CRL4) family of E3 ubiquitin ligases functions together with dedicated substrate receptors. Out of the ˜29 CRL4 substrate receptors reported, the DDB1- and CUL4-associated factor 1 (DCAF1) is essential for cellular survival and growth, and its deregulation has been implicated in tumorigenesis. We carried out biochemical and structural studies to examine the structure and mechanism of the CRL4 ligase.

The broad application of metal nanoparticles in different fields encourages scientists to find alternatives to conventional synthesis methods to reduce negative environmental impacts. Herein, we described a safe method for preparing silver nanoparticles (J-AgNPs) using leaves extract as a reducing agent and further characterize its physiochemical and pharmacological properties to identify its therapeutic potential as a cytotoxic and antimicrobial agent. The biogenic synthesized J-AgNPs were physiochemically characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.

Patients And Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted from June to December 2020 in which 50 cases suspected of COVID-19 were enrolled in the study that was admitted at the first visit to the emergency department of DJARPTH and their age ranged between 3 months to 14 years.
Difenoconazole, a triazole fungicide, can induce reproductive toxicity in aquatic species, but the probable mechanisms of this hazard in mammals are not formally reported. Here, we have examined the possible ameliorative efficiency of the ginger aqueous extract against the reproductive toxicity of difenoconazole in male rats. Thirty-six animals were equally divided into six groups: control, ginger aqueous extract (50 mg/kg), difenoconazole (15 mg/kg), difenoconazole (30 mg/kg) and ginger co-treated with two doses of difenoconazole.
