Background: Viral hepatitis B and C are the leading causes of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). With obesity, metabolic-related disorders are increasingly associated with a higher incidence of nonviral HCC. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics, tumor features, treatment outcomes, and survival of patients with viral versus nonviral HCC.

Methods: This is an intervention study that was conducted from April to July 2021 at the Physiology and Medical Physics Laboratory, College of Medicine, Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad, Iraq, and comprised samples of healthy, adult human blood that were put in tubes with citrate-phosphate dextrose-adenine as an anticoagulant. The blood sample was divided into eight equal aliquots and stored for 21 days at 4ºC.
Governments around the world have issued movement restrictions and quarantines to combat the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic. However, the Swedish government has not implemented such measures but has depended on individual responsibility. The extent to which individuals have been encouraged to trust in and be satisfied with government strategies and adopt personal health measures, such as social isolation, remains unclear.

Materials And Methods: This prospective study included 100 patients who were waiting for LT and who previously underwent locoregional therapy (LRT) of HCC. These patients had rising AFP levels on a routine follow-up examination awaiting LT.
Overdoses of acetaminophen (APAP), a famous and widely used drug, may have hepatotoxic effects. Nanoscience is a novel scientific discipline that provides specific tools for medical science problems including using nano trace elements in hepatic diseases. Our study aimed to assess the hepatoprotective role of selenium nanoparticles (Nano-Se) against APAP-induced hepatic injury.

The first group served as a control without any treatment while the other groups were given cisplatin, sodium selenate, and cisplatin+sodium selenate, respectively.

Also there is lack of information on their prevalence among the general population. So, a population-based serological survey was conducted in Dhaka to determine the prevalence and risk factors of HBV and HCV infections.

Educational programmes, designed to meet the training needs of General Practitioners (GPs) performing minor surgical procedures, have previously been shown to increase their surgical workload. The change in the level of competence following these programmes has not been assessed. The aims of this study were two-fold: to evaluate the vertical mattress suture for construct validity and to assess the impact of plastic surgery training on the surgical skill of GPs.

Oncogene amplification usually occurs late in tumor progression and correlates well with aggressiveness of tumor. In fact the function of the S100A4 protein and its role in metastasis is unclear at present.

The expression differences of many proteins are associated with breast cancer progression or suppression. The purpose of the study was to determine the expression of nm23 protein in the invasion status and metastatic potential of breast cancer by using tissue microarray and to determine its role in breast cancer based on the expression of nm23 gene product.

Angiographic restenosis of the infarct-related artery after direct PCI for STEMI is often silent and the strategy for follow-up evaluation of asymptomatic patients remains debated.
Methods: A total of 149 patients successfully treated by direct PCI (96% stenting) for STEMI with no symptoms during the follow-up systematically underwent both rest thallium 201/stress Tc 99m setamibi myocardial perfusion imaging and coronary angiogram at 6 months.
Androgenic-anabolic steroids (AAS) are widely abused by athletes and this abuse has been associated with many serious circulatory events including sudden cardiac death, myocardial infarction and cardiac hypertrophy. The effect of chronic treatment for 16 weeks with testosterone (25mg(-1)kg(-1)week(-1)) and nandrolone (50mg(-1)kg(-1)week(-1)) on serum lipids of male hypercholesterolemic New Zealand rabbits was investigated. The responses of isolated rabbit aortic rings to some vasoconstrictors (epinephrine, serotonin and endothelin-1) and vasodilators (adenosine and sodium nitroprusside) were also measured after treatment.

The sequences from one sample grouped into subtype A, five samples grouped into subtype C, and one grouped into subtype G. In addition, two patients appeared to be infected with different recombinant viruses consisting of subtype A and unclassifiable viral sequences.
