Unlabelled: Cardiac Failure is an organ system failure with a time sensitive treatment and is usually due to the failure of the left ventricle. Left ventricular function is most easily calculated by a 2D echocardiogram (ECHO). The 2D echo estimates accurately the ejection fraction(EF) of the heart thus, indicating the functioning of the left ventricle.

Unlabelled: Diabetes mellitus, a prothrombotic state with enhanced platelet reactivity, presents with altered platelets indices. Increased platelet activation has been suggested to be involved in the pathogenesis of vascular complications of T2DM.

Material: This was a prospective observational study carried from December 2019 to June 2021, to evaluate the alteration in Mean Platelet Volume (MPV), Platelet Distribution Width (PDW), Plateletcrit (PCT) and Platelet Large Cells Ratio (P-LCR) among 150 patients with T2DM who were admitted in In Patient Department in Department of General Medicine in a tertiary care centre after taking their verbal consent.

V565 is an engineered TNFα-neutralising single domain antibody formulated into enteric coated mini-tablets to enable release in the intestine after oral administration as a possible oral treatment for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Following oral administration, ileal recovery of V565 was investigated in four patients with terminal ileostomy. Intestinal and systemic pharmacokinetics were measured in six patients with Crohn's disease and evidence of target engagement assessed in five patients with ulcerative colitis.

Introduction: Current literature is poor with respect to well conducted prospective studies of hypothalamic pituitary axis (HPA) dysfunction in tubercular meningitis (TBM). As hormonal deficiencies are associated with poor clinical outcome in various neurological and non-neurological disorders, we prospectively evaluated the hypothalamic pituitary axis (HPA) dysfunction in TBM.

Patients And Methods: Present study included newly diagnosed drug naive TBM patients (n = 63) at a tertiary care centre in Northern India.

Acidification of the extracellular and/or intracellular environment is involved in many aspects of cell physiology and pathology. Eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase (eEF2K) is a Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent kinase that regulates translation elongation by phosphorylating and inhibiting eEF2. Here we show that extracellular acidosis elicits activation of eEF2K in vivo, leading to enhanced phosphorylation of eEF2.

This article describes a study in two acute NHS Trusts of the availability and curriculum relevance of inpatients for undergraduate medical student learning. The study was conducted to assist a new medical school plan on how best to utilise the clinical learning resources of adjacent hospitals, at a time when basic medical education is expanding, large academic hospitals are becoming more specialised and medical care provision is shifting to smaller hospital and ambulatory settings. We found that all three hospitals showed similar proportions, mean ages and gender ratios of available patients, and provided a wide range of clinical learning opportunities.
