The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic at the end of 2019 had major worldwide health and economic consequences. Until effective vaccination approaches were created, the healthcare sectors endured a shortage of operative treatments that might prevent the infection's spread. As a result, academia and the pharmaceutical industry prioritized the development of SARS-CoV2 antiviral medication.

Methods: A retrospective review of neonates' records was performed over a 3-month duration in the NICU of Qatar to determine the total economic benefit of clinical pharmacist interventions. The total benefit of interventions was calculated by considering the cost avoidance due to preventable adverse drug events (ADEs) and the cost savings associated with the revised resource use due to interventions.
Hepcidin is secreted in inflammatory states as in patients on regular hemodialysis (HD). Therefore, novel agents modulating hepcidin secretion may have the potential to effectively reverse anemia in HD patients. Bovine milk derivative lactoferrin (BLF) is a glycoprotein that was found to decrease serum interleukin-6, therefore, having anti-inflammatory properties.

Therefore, we aimed to assess the occurrence of IgH gene rearrangement in Egyptian chronic HCV patients and studying the effect of oral direct-acting antiviral (DAAs) therapy on regression of the clonality markers.

This study aimed to define RIs of hematological parameters for adult population in the western region of Saudi Arabia and to explore their specific features from an international perspective.
Method: This study was conducted according to the harmonized protocol of IFCC Committee on RIs and Decision Limits.
The study aimed to evaluate the association of demographic, clinical, and histopathologic characteristics with renal and disease outcomes. Persistent lack of partial or complete remission despite sequential induction therapy, chronic kidney disease (CKD) or endstage renal disease (ESRD), and/or mortality were determined as poor renal outcomes. Disease damage was investigated through the Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics/ American College of Rheumatology Damage Index (SDI).

Objective: The aim of the study was to look for the impact of hypouricemic therapy using allopurinol on serum level of 25 (OH) vit D in CKD patients.
Cases And Methods: Seventy-two CKD stage 3-5 patients were selected to this study.
Background: The impact of midazolam on the overall performance of morphine therapy for pain in ventilated neonates with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) has never been investigated.
Objective: This study is a clinical and economic analysis of morphine monotherapy versus morphine plus midazolam in ventilated infants with RDS.
Methods: A decision-analytic model from the hospital perspective was developed to follow the consequences of the use of the study drugs.
To conduct a systematic overview of systematic reviews (SRs) and randomized clinical trials (RCTs) on surfactant therapy in neonatal meconium aspiration syndrome. We searched EMBASE, PROQUEST and PubMed to summarize the different effects of surfactant lung lavage and bolus surfactant therapies in neonates with meconium aspiration syndrome. With a total of 1377 patients, three SRs and two RCTs were included in analysis.

Heterocyclization of the formed hydrazones afforded the derived acyclic nucleoside analogues possessing the 1,3,4-oxadiazoline as modified nucleobase via acetylation followed by the heterocyclization process. The anticancer activity of the synthesized compounds was studied against human liver carcinoma cell (HepG-2) and at human normal retina pigmented epithelium cells (RPE-1).

Objective: To evaluate the use of dermo-fascial flap in suspension of the breast tissue to the chest wall in reduction mammoplasty to achieve better breast shape, projection, and contour.
Patients And Methods: Forty patients who underwent superiomedial reduction mammoplasty were divided into two equal groups.
No study has been published yet in the Arab world regarding response and outcome of imatinib in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). This study evaluated a total of 122 patients with CML treated with imatinib between 2001 and 2012. Survival, hematologic, cytogenetic and molecular responses and adverse events were assessed.

Objectives: In this study, the authors objectively estimated the blood loss volume associated with laser lipolysis vs traditional liposuction in various anatomic regions.
Background: Lipoabdominoplasty is nearly a daily aesthetic procedure. Despite the emergence of laser-assisted liposuction, to date, it has not been clearly evaluated combined with abdominoplasty. This prospective study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of laser-assisted liposuction relative to traditional liposuction combined with high-lateral-tension abdominoplasty.

The synthesized compounds were tested for their antiviral activity against hepatitis B virus. Plaque reduction infectivity assay was used to determine virus count reduction as a result of treatment with tested compounds which showed moderate to high antiviral activities.

Materials And Methods: This study included 1,012 women recruited from gynecology outpatient clinic screened for premalignant or malignant lesions of the cervix. All women underwent cervical smear test, direct visual inspection of the cervix after painting with acetic acid (DVI-A) and after painting with Lugol iodine (DVI-LI).
A number of new N-arylaminomethyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives 2, 3a,b, and 9-12a,b were prepared. Sugar (5-N-arylaminomethyl-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl) hydrazones 4-6a,b were synthesized by the reaction of the hydrazino derivatives 3a,b with the corresponding monosaccharides. The novel acyclo-C-nucleosides 7, 8a,b were prepared by heterocyclization of the sugar hydrazones 4, 5a,b with acetic anhydride.

Per-O-acetyl derivatives 6-9 of sugar hydrazones 2-5 were prepared by using acetic anhydride in pyridine at room temperature, while on boiling with acetic anhydride, cyclization had taken place to give the oxadiazolines 10-12. The prepared compounds were tested for antiviral activity against Herpes Simplex virus type-1 (HSV-1) and hepatitis-A virus (HAV, MBB-cell culture adapted strain).
