SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) is the causative organism for a pandemic disease with a high rate of infectivity and mortality. In this study, we aimed to assess the affinity between several available small molecule and proteins, including Abl kinase inhibitors, Janus kinase inhibitor, dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitors, RNA-dependent RNA polymerase inhibitors, and Papain-like protease inhibitors, using binding simulation, to test whether they may be effective in inhibiting COVID-19 infection through several mechanisms. The efficiency of inhibitors was evaluated based on docking scores using AutoDock Vina software.

In this study, competitive binding of cisplatin with an oligonucleotide and two peptides corresponding to segments of H2A and H2B histone proteins was investigated by mass spectrometry. Following the determination of the cisplatin binding sites on the oligonucleotide and peptides by tandem mass spectrometry, competitive binding was studied and transfer of platinum fragments from the platinated peptides to the oligonucleotide explored.

Forty-two crowns were made of monolithic zirconia and lithium disilicate ceramics (n = 21 per group) and cemented on customized zirconia abutments by using two provisional resin cements of TempBond Clear and Implantlink Semi, and TempBond serving as the control (n = 7 per cement subgroup). The specimens' color was measured before and after cementation and after thermocycling.

Background: Preeclampsia (PE) is one of the leading causes of mortality and complications during pregnancy. It seems that usual prenatal care is not enough for these patients. They require more assistance, support, and guidance from health professionals, and home care is an effective strategy in this regard.

The present study aimed to investigate the experiences of operating room health care professionals' regarding the COVID-19 pandemic challenges in southern Iran.
Methods: This is a descriptive qualitative study.
Medroxyprogesterone and donepezil could be used as respiratory stimulants in ventilated patients. However, no randomized placebo-controlled trial is available to confirm this approach and compare these drugs. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the effects of donepezil or medroxyprogesterone compared to the placebo in improvement in respiratory status and weaning facilitation in critically ill adult patients receiving mechanical ventilation.

Methods: In this study, the effects of minocycline on harmaline-induced motor and cognitive impairments were studied in male Wistar rats.
Background: Skin conditions often considerably impact the older patients' psycho-social health and quality of life (QoL). The present study was aimed to examine the validity and reliability of the Persian version of Skindex-16 among older people with skin diseases.
Methods: In this validation study, 260 older patients suffering from a range of skin conditions were recruited from a dermatology clinic in Rasht, Iran.
Purpose: Heavy metals, as significant toxic environmental contaminants, can cause serious adverse health outcomes on the human body even in trace concentrations. There is limited evidence on heavy metal concentrations existing in the body fluids of pregnant women. This study aims to evaluate the urinary levels of arsenic (As) and lead (Pb), as two main toxic heavy metals, among pregnant women and their lifestyle determinants.

This study examined the association of maternal exposure to benzophenones as one of the EDCs with gestational age and evaluated their effects on birth outcomes including birth weight, birth length, head circumference, and Ponderal Index. We assessed 166 pregnant mothers of the PERSIAN cohort population of Isfahan, Iran, in the 1st and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy and their infants at birth.

Therefore, the present study was an attempt to determine the effect of multimedia education using teach-back method on the life quality and cardiac anxiety in patients with heart failure.
Methods: The present study was a randomized clinical trial.
Background: Mucormycosis is a rare and invasive fungal infection, affecting almost exclusively immunocompromised individuals. Immunosuppressive effects of corticosteroids which are widely prescribed in COVID-19 patients might be a predisposing factor for opportunistic infections even though the other factors should also be considered. .

The conically shaped GaAs nanowires were first coated with a 5 nm thick AlO shell to suppress atmospheric oxidation and band-bending effects. Doping with a high Zn concentration increases both the radiative efficiency and the material gain and leads to lasing up to room temperature.

Considering the defect's location and size, brain protection, and the cosmetic outcome makes such reconstructions challenging. Due to limited resemblance to skull contour and donor site morbidity of autogenous bone grafts, alloplastic materials are widely used for skull reconstructions.

Moreover, in the patients with CRC the possible correlations between ghrelin and insulin, insulin resistance, and body mass index (BMI) as an indicator of obesity were examined.
Methods: A total of 170 subjects, including 82 cases with CRC and 88 controls were enrolled in this study.
Background: Heart failure is a common and chronic heart condition with high prevalence and mortality rates. This debilitating disease as an important predictor of health outcomes is directly related to patients' quality of life. Given that one of the main goals of heart failure treatment is to promote patients' quality of life and health status, conducting effective nursing interventions seems to be necessary in this regard.

The regulation of ion movement across the plasma membrane (PM) to improve salinity tolerance of plant is thought to be accomplished with the aid of the proton electrochemical gradient generated by PM H-ATPase. In this study, we cloned a partial gene sequence of the Lf PM H-ATPase and investigated its expression and activity under salt stress.
