Circular dichroism (CD) can distinguish the handedness of the chiral molecules. However, it is typically very weak due to vanishing absorption at low molecular concentrations. Here, we suggest thermal CD (TCD) for chiral detection, leveraging the temperature difference in the chiral sample when subjected to right- and left-circularly polarized excitations.

Background: Mental health problems, specifically, depression, anxiety, and stress are among the major public health issues worldwide. Diet modification can be a helpful strategy for the prevention and management of psychological disorders. Therefore, the present study aims to explore the association between major dietary patterns and mental health problems among Iranian college students.

Exploring the alterations that underlie the early degeneration of these cells is essential to develop therapies that delay disease onset. Here we performed cell-type specific profiling of the EC at the onset of human AD neuropathology.

Recent advancements in nanotechnology have facilitated the development of innovative biosensors that utilize bioactive materials for non-invasive diagnostics, particularly through salivary analysis. These biosensors, including electrochemical, optical, and molecular types, target specific biomarkers such as DNA, RNA, and proteins associated with oral cancer.

Methods: The Shiraz Pediatric Eye Study included 500 randomly selected children who underwent SD-OCT of the macula and optical biometry using the IOLMaster-500. Exclusion criteria involved ocular abnormalities or axial lengths outside the 21.
Introduction: Brucellosis is still a significant emerging threat to public health, as it can infect humans, wild, domestic animals, and livestock. Hence, the current study aims to determine the frequency of canine brucellosis (CB), its relationship with clinical findings and reproductive disorders in kennel and farm dogs, and its importance on public health.
Materials And Methods: From January 2022 to December 2023, a total of 150 blood samples were taken from 100 adult dogs in breeding kennels and 50 shepherd dogs in breeding farms in Kerman, Iran.

This study pursued to evaluate the tropisetron effects in attenuating D-galactose induced heart aging in mice. The study aimed to ascertain whether tropisetron affects apoptotic processes, mitochondrial oxidative stress, or inflammatory variables in cardiac tissue, presumably through the modulation of the SIRT1 signaling pathway or sirtuin 1. Aging was induced via administration of D-galactose (200 mg/kg, s.

Methods: Seventy 18-60 years old SLE patients were recruited in this randomized triple-blinded placebo-controlled trial, and 62 completed the study.
Background: Unintended pregnancy, a pregnancy that have been either unwanted or mistimed, is a serious public health issue. The present study aims to design and implement interventions to improve unplanned pregnancy experiences.
Methods/design: This exploratory sequential mixed method study will be conducted in three phases: qualitative, intermediate, and quantitative.
Background: We aimed to investigate the relationship between lifestyle status and metabolic syndrome (MetS) components across gender and age groups of the older population, specifically focusing on identifying the association between MetS and lifestyle factors in classified age groups in older individuals.
Methods: Overall, 582 older people with MetS in Yazd (Iran) urban primary health care centers were randomly included from 10 health centers and invited to participate in the study in 2022. During the phone invitation, eligible interested people were asked to refer to health care centers for clinical assessments by trained health researchers.
Myiasis is a parasitic infestation of fly larvae caused by dipterous larvae that live in the host's dead or living tissues. This study reported the first case of urogenital myiasis in infants from Iran caused by . The 10-month-old boy was taken to the hospital by his mother due to restlessness and abdominal pain.

However, there is a paucity of research on these models in developing nations. This quasi-experimental study was conducted on primiparous women who referred to one private midwifery center and two public hospitals in Ahvaz, Iran to evaluate the effect of team midwifery care on maternal and neonatal outcomes of pregnant women in Iran.

We determined the prognostic value of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR).
Background: TACE is the most commonly used method to treat patients with large, unresectable tumors or as bridge therapy in patients with HCC before liver transplantation.
Nausea serves as a protective mechanism in organisms to prevent excessive consumption of toxic substances. Due to the adverse effects of chemical anti-nausea drugs, there is a growing interest in using herbal remedies and natural antioxidants. In this study, we evaluated the neuroprotective effects of quercetin (QU) and N-acetylcysteine (NAC) against oxidative damage induced by nausea.

The study encompassed interviews with 16 participants from a private fertility center in Isfahan, Iran, between March 2023 and March 2024.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Most of the research and care in fertility focuses on women, whereas men's perspectives and expectations are often overlooked.
Objectives: The aim of the study was to explore the experiences and expectations of men with primary infertility regarding fertility clinics and to provide implications for personalized and inclusive care.
Methods: A qualitative study was conducted in Iran between November 2022 and October 2023.
Background: Relatives of individuals with bipolar disorder (BD) are at higher risk of developing the disorder. Identifying brain alterations associated with familial vulnerability in BD can help discover endophenotypes, which are quantifiable biological traits more prevalent in unaffected relatives of BD (BD-RELs) than the general population. This review aimed at expanding our knowledge on endophenotypes of BD by providing an overview of resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) alterations in BD-RELs.

To attain this goal, we utilize various methodologies including the non-cooperative game (leader-follower) NDEA method, the concept of Z-number, credibility theory, and chance-constrained programming (CCP) to develop a model for the fuzzy NDEA approach. The FNDEA approach offers several advantages, such as the linearity of the presented FNDEA models, the ability to rank two-stage DMUs in situations of ambiguity, the provision of a unique efficiency decomposition method in an uncertain environment, and the capability to handle Z-information.

Background: Understanding the predictors of functional status can be useful for improving modifiable predictors or identifying at-risk populations. Researchers have examined the predictors of functional status in older adults, but there has not been sufficient study in this field in older adults with multiple chronic conditions, especially in Iran. Consequently, the results of this body of research may not be generalizable to Iran.
