The effects of a custom foot orthosis on dynamic plantar pressure in patients with chronic plantar fasciitis: A randomized controlled trial.

Background: Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. The plantar fascia supports the longitudinal arch and absorbs ground reaction forces during the static and dynamic phase(s) of weight-bearing. The purpose of this randomized controlled trial study was to determine the effects of CAD/CAM foot orthoses that were designed based on the dynamic plantar pressure in patients with plantar fasciitis.

Validity and test-retest reliability of photogrammetry in adolescents with hyperkyphosis.

Background: A variety of noninvasive instruments have been introduced in the literature to assess thoracic curvature, although the psychometric properties of many of these instruments have not been satisfactory. Photogrammetry is a safe, accessible, and reliable technique. However, its validity in adolescents with hyperkyphosis has not yet been investigated.

The Influence of Rocker Bar Ankle Foot Orthosis on Gait in Patients with Chronic Hemiplegia.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of rocker bar ankle foot orthosis (RAFO) on the spatiotemporal characteristics of gait in chronic hemiplegic patients compared with the effect of solid ankle foot orthosis (SAFO).

Methods: Following ethical approval, 18 patients with chronic hemiplegia, at least 6 months post stroke, were investigated in barefoot condition, with SAFO and RAFO in random sequences. Their spatiotemporal characteristics were examined by 2 force platforms and a Vicon motion analysis system.
