Errors in Diagnosing Infectious Diseases: A Physician Survey.

Infectious diseases are commonly missed or misdiagnosed. Errors in diagnosing infectious diseases not only affect the patient but also the community health. To describe our investigation on the most common errors in diagnosing infectious diseases and their causes according to the physicians' reports.

Prevalence and risk factors of seizure in children with acute bacterial meningitis: updating previous evidence using an epidemiological design.

Objective: The current study aimed to investigate the prevalence and risk factors of seizure in acute bacterial meningitis.

Materials & Methods: In the present study, a total of 180 children (age range, 2 months to 14 years) with acute bacterial meningitis, were separated into two groups based on the diagnosis of seizure. The study was conducted in Mashhad (Iran) from 2002 to 2016.

The rare multidrug cervical tubercular lymphadenitis in an infant from Iran: A case report and literature review.

Cervical-TB lymphadenitis is the most frequent extrapulmonary manifestation of tuberculosis infection. There are limited documents (only five documents) on multidrug-resistant cervical tubercular lymphadenitis, but there is no evidence for MDR-cervical tuberculosis lymphadenitis in infants, which may occur in TB endemic regions.

High rate of resistance to ceftriaxone and azithromycin among Shigella spp. isolates at three children's referral hospitals in Northeast Iran.

Acute dysentery is a prevalent case of hospital admission in developing countries, whose most common cause is believed to be Shigella species. Treatment failure employing oral or intravenous antibiotics is an increasing problem among children with dysentery. Objective: Brucellosis is a prevalent disorder in children of developing countries. The aim of this study is to describe the epidemiology and long term prognosis of Brucellosis in Khorasan, Iran.

Methods: This is a descriptive cross sectional study (from November 2003 up to February 2006), the subjects of which are composed of 82 patients (from Imam Reza hospital, Mashhad, and Health Center of Kashmar).
