Recent emergence of SARS-CoV-2 and associated COVID-19 pandemic have posed a great challenge for the scientific community. In this study, we performed bioinformatic analyses on SARS-CoV-2 protein sequences, trying to unravel potential molecular similarities between this newly emerged pathogen with non-coronavirus ssRNA viruses. Comparing the proteins of SARS-CoV-2 with non-coronavirus positive and negative strand ssRNA viruses revealed multiple sequence similarities between SARS-CoV-2 and non-coronaviruses, including similarities between RNA-dependent RNA-polymerases and helicases (two highly-conserved proteins).

Bi-metallic and tri-metallic metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) supported on the magnetic activated carbon (MAC) were synthesized for the reduction of methylene blue (MB) concentration in the aqueous solutions. The adsorbent nanocomposites were characterized by applying the general tests including XRD, FTIR, FESEM, TEM, BET, and VSM. The XRD achievements demonstrated that crystalline structure of MOFs was derived on the MAC by the presented method.

This study reveals the simultaneous deep oxidation of toluene and cyclohexane over optimal supported bimetallic catalysts over almond shell based activated carbon. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first to construct a hybrid intelligent model to predict and determine an optimal supported bimetallic catalyst to oxidize aromatic and aliphatic compounds in air. The effects of preparation and operating parameters, including oxidation temperature, initial concentration of VOCs, structure of the catalyst and metal oxide content, on VOCs conversion were studied by modeling a database containing 50 data points derived from our previously published study, by an artificial neural network (ANN).
