The Efficacy of Zinc Gluconate Supplementation in the Improvement of Malnutrition Indices and Skin Abnormalities in Hemodialysis Patients: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Background: Hemodialysis patients often suffer from several complications such as malnutrition and skin abnormalities. We hypothesized that zinc supplementation may improve these complications. The aim of the present study was to examine the effects of zinc gluconate supplementation on malnutrition and skin abnormalities.

The Association between Dietary Inflammatory Index with Risk of Coronavirus Infection and Severity: A Case-Control Study.

Background: Recently, several have evaluated the association between the components of the dietary inflammatory index (DII) score with the risk and severity of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). For the first time, we examined the association between DII with risk of coronavirus infection and symptom severity through a case-control study in Iran.

Methods: The present case-control study was conducted on COVID-19 cases (n = 100) and healthy control (n = 100) volunteer, aged from 18 to 65 years.

Angular distribution of laser-induced fluorescence emission of active dyes in scattering media.

Angular dependence of the intensity and the emissive wavelength of the laser-induced fluorescence emission in hybrid media (fluorophores+nanoparticles) are investigated using various TiO densities as guest nanoscatterers in the ethanolic solutions of the host Rd6G and coumarin 4 (C4) molecules. It is shown that the intensity of the scattered photons varies in terms of the detection angle. When the nanoscatterer density increases at a certain excitation energy, the angular anisotropy enhances.

Metopism: as an indicator of cranial pathology; a good example from Iranian plateau.

Metopism had been observed as a genetic trait. Recent studies have brought to light that it can get as an indicator of cranial pathology. An example of this pathology has been studied by this author on an Iranian skeletal sample.
