It is characterized by loss of cognitive ability and severe behavioral abnormalities, and could lead to death. Cholinesterases (ChEs) play a crucial role in the control of cholinergic transmission, and subsequently, the acetylcholine level in the brain is upgraded by inhibition of ChEs.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA series of new N1-(flavon-7-yl)amidrazones incorporating N-piperazines and related congeners were synthesized by reacting the hydrazonoyl chloride derived from 7-aminoflavone and 7-amino-2-methylchromen-4-one with the appropriate piperazine. The chemical structures of the newly prepared compounds were confirmed by elemental analyses, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, and ESI-HRMS spectral data. The antitumor activity of these compounds was evaluated on breast cancer (MCF-7 and T47D) and Leukemic (K562) cell lines by a cell viability assay utilizing the tetrazolium dye 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT).
