Arterial oxygenation and oxygen delivery after hemoglobin-based oxygen carrier infusion in canine hypovolemic shock: a dose-response study.

Objective: To compare effects of 6% hetastarch (Hextend) and hemoglobin-based oxygen carrier hemoglobin glutamer-200 (Hb-200) (bovine; Oxyglobin) on hemodynamics, arterial oxygen content, and systemic oxygen delivery in a canine hemorrhagic shock model.

Design: Randomized laboratory investigation.
