Background: The process of diagnosis and treatment in Persian medicine (PM) are based on the concept of Mizaj (temperament). Among the indices of Mizaj determination, anthropometric indices are less influenceable regarding age change and other environmental factors. Objective: To examine the influence of cupping on the quality of life of healthy people who referred to traditional Persian medicine clinics in Tehran.

Methods: All participants were examined by Traditional Persian Medicine specialists and their temperaments were determined. The area between the shoulders was cleaned, and cupping was performed with a disposable cupping glass for a few minutes.

Designing mucoadhesive discs containing stem bark extract of Ziziphus jujuba based on Iranian traditional documents.

Objective S: Mucoadhesive disc is one of the various routes of drug delivery for curing buccal disease.

Materials And Methods: Every discs containing 70 mg stem bark extract of Ziziphus jujuba were formulated by using Carbopol 934, PVP k30 and gelatin as polymers. Discs were made by granulation and direct compression.

Criteria for evidence-based practice in Iranian traditional medicine.

The major difference between Iranian traditional medicine and allopathic medicine is in the application  of  evidence  and  documents.  In  this  study,  criteria  for  evidence-based  practice  in  Iranian traditional medicine and its rules of practice were studied. The experts' views were investigated through in- depth, semi-structured interviews and the results were categorized into four main categories including Designing clinical questions/clinical question-based search, critical appraisal, resource search criteria and clinical prescription appraisal.

Ekhtiyarat i Badi i (Badi i Selections) is a drug manual of traditional Persian medicine, well known in Farsi-speaking countries, the Middle East and India. The author was the greatest pharmacist-physician of the 13th-century Mongolian period in Persia. The unique style of writing, with authoritative and critical drug overviews, made his book an invaluable Farsi reference of traditional pharmacy for four centuries.

Root cultures of linum species section Syllinum as rich sources of 6-methoxypodophyllotoxin.

Linum spp. from section Syllinum are promising for the production of aryltetralin lignans like podophyllotoxin (PTOX) and 6-methoxypodophyllotoxin (MPTOX). MPTOX is a PTOX congener that has cytotoxic activity comparable with PTOX.
