Prevalence of intestinal parasites in referred individuals to the medical centers of Tonekabon city, Mazandaran province.

Aim: The aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence of intestinal parasites and their relation with socio-demographic data in referred individuals to the medical centers in Tonekabon, Mazandaran province, 2015.

Background: Due to the climatic and ecological conditions in Mazandaran province, determination of the status of intestinal parasites among referred individuals to the medical centers of Tonekabon city can help researchers and healthcare services to prevent and/or control of parasitic infection in this region.

Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted with randomized sampling in 2015 on 820 stool samples.

Background And Objectives: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) chronically infects around 200 million people worldwide and frequently causes liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Rapid detection of this virus results in decreasing the distance between infection and initiation the anti-viral treatment, and may prevent most of the undesirable consequences. The new detected HCV protein "Core+1" made from the ribosomal frame shift in Core region is an important candidate for diagnostic tools.

Antimicrobial Effect of Imipenem-Functionalized FeO Nanoparticles on Producing Metallo β-lactamases.

Background: Resistant strains of to imipenem was medical treatment problem, especially in burnt units of hospitals.

Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate the antimicrobial effect of FeO nanoparticles alone and functionalized with imipenem on starins producing metallo β-lactamases (MBL).

Materials And Methods: A disk diffusion method was used to isolate a clinical producing Metallo β-lactamases with imipenem resistance.
