Background: Kawasaki disease is an acute inflammatory disorder primarily affecting medium-sized blood vessels, especially in infants and young children under 5 years old, characterized by inflammation of the arterial walls, including coronary arteries. While predominantly affecting young children, rarely Kawasaki disease is seen in adults. Reporting this case is crucial due to the patient's very young age and the disease's unusual presentation following vaccination, contributing to the limited literature on Kawasaki disease in very young infants.

Juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) is a rare idiopathic inflammatory disease, which usually presents with skin rashes along with muscle weakness. We report a case of JDM in a 10- year-old girl with no skin manifestations presenting with progressive muscle weakness and fatigue. Calcon-imprinted magnetic chitosan (CIMC) nanoparticles (NPs) were successfully synthesized as a novel adsorbent. Epichlorohydrin (ECH) and glutaraldehyde (GA) were used as cross-linkers to synthesize desired calcon-imprinted magnetic chitosan (ECH/CIMC and GA/CIMC) and non-imprinted magnetic chitosan (ECH/NIMC and GA/NIMC) NPs for adsorption and removal of calcon from polluted solutions. A cloud point extraction (CPE) method for determination of trace amounts of penicillin G by spectrophotometry based on its effect on the triiodide ion (I3(-)) has been developed. Penicillin G is converted to the corresponding penicilloic acid by carrying out hydrolysis with sodium hydroxide solution, and treatment with acid yields D-penicillamine that is oxidized quantitatively by iodine to give rise to a disulfide. The 13- remaining in the solution is extracted into the surfactant Triton X-100, and the difference between absorbance of the working solution in the presence and absence of penicillin G is proportional to the amount of penicillin G.

Efficiency and performance of Almond shell (AS) adsorbent for the removal and recovery of Acid Blue 129 (AB129) from wastewater is presented in this report. Three different agarose-based chelating adsorbents with, respectively, iminodiacetic acid (IDA), tris(2-aminoethyl)amine (TREN) and dipicolylamine (DPA) functional groups and an agarose-based anion exchanger (Q-Sepharose), were studied for the separation and preconcentration of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) species in water. Column recoveries of all the adsorbents were plotted against pH, and it was found that at pH 3.0 the IDA adsorbent selectively adsorbs Cr(III), with a 100 +/- 1.
