- The study aimed to examine how calcium affects anxiety and its potential to enhance the anxiolytic effects of diazepam and verapamil in female albino rats.
- Rats were divided into six groups and tested in a light and dark arena to measure anxiety levels based on the time spent in the light area and the number of entries, after administering different drug combinations.
- Results indicated that while the combination of calcium and diazepam increased the number of entries into the light arena, the increase in time spent was statistically insignificant; calcium did not enhance verapamil’s anxiolytic effects.
