Esophageal carcinoma (ESCA) has a 5-year survival rate of fewer than 20%. The study aimed to identify new predictive biomarkers for ESCA through transcriptomics meta-analysis to address the problems of ineffective cancer therapy, lack of efficient diagnostic tools, and costly screening and contribute to developing more efficient cancer screening and treatments by identifying new marker genes. Nine GEO datasets of three kinds of esophageal carcinoma were analyzed, and 20 differentially expressed genes were detected in carcinogenic pathways.

The COVID-19 situation had escalated into an unprecedented global crisis in just a few weeks. Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are a large family of molecular chaperones aberrantly expressed in cancer. The expression of HSPs in tumor cells has been shown to be implicated in the regulation of apoptosis, immune responses, angiogenesis and metastasis. Given that extracellular vesicles (EVs) can serve as potential source for the discovery of clinically useful biomarkers and therapeutic targets, it is of particular interest to study proteomic profiling of HSPs in EVs derived from various biological fluids of cancer patients.

The overexpression of Akt1 (RAC-alpha serine/threonine-protein Kinase) and Akt2 (RAC-beta serine/threonine-protein Kinase) is a hallmark of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC). Because of the elevated frequency of OSCC occurrence in South Asian countries, novel therapeutic approaches are indispensable. Drugs that inhibit the overexpression of Akt1 and Akt2 proteins in Akt pathway and do not cause reduced expression of MAOB can be leads for OSCC treatment.

Aldo-keto reductase (AKR) superfamily is responsible for preventing mammalian cells from the toxic and carcinogenic effect of different genotoxic and non-genotoxic chemicals by reducing them, though the inducibility of these genes are different in different species. The aim of this paper is to compare the gene regulation mechanisms of AKR superfamily genes in different species and to identify the conserved areas, which are responsible for gene regulations in the presence of antioxidant, toxicants, and non-genotoxic carcinogens. This paper seeks to collate all relevant published intelligence with acquired survey data to assess the weight of available evidence that these products hold immense potential for the pharmaceutical industry in terms of their applications and benefits. Biosimilars also pose to be of great promise to the Bangladesh pharmaceutical industry, with the commitment of drastically reducing its dependence on foreign imports of biopharmaceutics to meet local demand.
