Aims: Right ventricular reverse remodelling (RVRR) is linked to improved survival in patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR) and right-sided heart failure who underwent interventional treatment. However, the role of residual TR on RVRR remains unclear. In this analysis the impact of residual TR on RVRR after interventional TR treatment, which was validated by two independent cohorts at four sites using echocardiography or cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging, was investigated.

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the safety and effectiveness of the PASCAL transcatheter valve repair system in treating severe TR in a real-world patient population.
Methods: The PASTE (PASCAL for Tricuspid Regurgitation-a European registry) study is an investigator-initiated, multicenter, retrospective, and prospective observational cohort analysis conducted across 16 European heart valve centers including consecutive patients treated with the PASCAL transcatheter valve repair system from February 2019 to November 2023.
Background: Transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) provides accurate evaluation of mitral valve (MV) function following mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (M-TEER) and may better detect complications in case of suboptimal result.
Aims: We aimed to evaluate midterm anatomical changes and structural complications after M-TEER using TOE and investigate their association with clinical outcomes at 2 years.
Methods: A follow-up TOE at 6 months was systematically recommended to all patients included in our institutional prospective M-TEER registry until December 2021.
Background: Pericardial effusion (PE) is the most common serious left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) complication, but its mechanisms, time course, and prognostic impact are poorly understood.
Objectives: This study sought to assess the frequency, timing, predictors and clinical impact of PE after LAAC.
Methods: Data on consecutive patients undergoing percutaneous LAAC between 2009 and 2022 were prospectively collected including the 1-year follow-up.
Both acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and pulmonary embolism (PE) are major causes of morbidity and mortality, with overlapping risk factors. Incidental or silent PE therefore may be discovered during an AIS work-up. Thrombolytic therapy is considered first-line therapy for eligible patients with AIS.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAims: This study aims to assess the applicability of the mitral regurgitation (MR) proportionality concept in patients with atrial functional mitral regurgitation (aFMR) treated with transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (M-TEER). We hypothesized that patients with disproportionate MR (higher MR relative to left ventricular size) would exhibit different outcomes compared to those with proportionate MR, despite undergoing M-TEER.
Methods And Results: We retrospectively analysed 98 patients with aFMR from the EuroSMR registry who underwent M-TEER between 2008 and 2019.
Aim: To identify anatomical computed tomography (CT) predictors of procedural and clinical outcomes in patients undergoing tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (T-TEER).
Methods And Results: Consecutive patients undergoing T-TEER between March 2018 to December 2022 who had cardiac CT prior to the procedure were included. CT scans were automatically analyzed using a dedicated software that employs deep learning techniques to provide precise anatomical measurements and volumetric calculations.
Aims: Right ventricular to pulmonary artery (RV-PA) coupling has been established as a prognostic marker in patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR) undergoing transcatheter tricuspid valve interventions (TTVI). RV-PA coupling assesses right ventricular systolic function related to pulmonary artery pressure levels, which are ideally measured by right heart catheterization. This study aimed to improve the RV-PA coupling concept by relating tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) to mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) levels.

However, the generalizability of the TRILUMINATE trial to real-world conditions remains a subject of discussion.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to apply the clinical TRILUMINATE inclusion and exclusion criteria to a real-world T-TEER patient group and evaluate symptomatic and survival outcome in TRILUMINATE-eligible and TRILUMINATE-ineligible patients.

Methods: All 702 patients in this multicenter study underwent TTVI for severe TR.
Right-sided infective endocarditis (IE) accounts for 5% to 10% of all IE cases. Compared with left-sided IE, it is more often associated with intravenous drug abuse and intracardiac devices, whereas the latter has become more prevalent in recent decades. The authors report the first case of IE in a heterotopic caval valved stent used for treating torrential tricuspid regurgitation.

Although the staging of SMR patients suffering from heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) according to extramitral cardiac involvement has prognostic value in medically treated patients, such data are so far lacking for edge-to-edge mitral valve repair (M-TEER).
Objectives: This study sought to classify M-TEER patients into disease stages based on the phenotype of extramitral cardiac involvement and to assess its impact on symptomatic and survival outcomes.
Background: Body surface area (BSA) has been reported to be the stronger predictor for prognosis than body mass index in heart failure (HF) patients. The sex-specific association of BSA with mortality has been unclear.
Methods: EuroSMR, a European multicenter registry, included patients who underwent edge-to-edge repair (TEER) for secondary mitral regurgitation (SMR).

Background: Among patients with severe functional mitral regurgitation (FMR), atrial functional mitral regurgitation (aFMR) represents an underrecognized entity. Data regarding outcomes after mitral valve transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (M-TEER) in aFMR remain scarce.
Objectives: The objective of this study was to analyze the outcome of aFMR patients undergoing M-TEER.
Aims: Guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT), based on the combination of beta-blockers (BB), renin-angiotensin system inhibitors (RASI), and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRA), is known to have a major impact on the outcome of patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Although GDMT is recommended prior to mitral valve transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (M-TEER), not all patients tolerate it. We studied the association of GDMT prescription with survival in HFrEF patients undergoing M-TEER for secondary mitral regurgitation (SMR).
