Prevalence, Patterns, Prognosis, and Psychosocial Impact of Olfactory and Gustative Dysfunctions Among Saudi COVID-19 Patients.

Objective The objective of this study is to estimate the prevalence of olfactory and gustative dysfunctions (OGD) and analyze their pattern and psychosocial impact among COVID-19 patients. Method A cross-sectional study was conducted among 194 confirmed COVID-19 cases at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital between 1 September 2020 and 30 September 2021. A questionnaire was translated and modified from another study to collect the baseline demographic data and medical history; characterization of smell and taste loss separately, including timing, level, practices or treatment used to restore, recovery, and symptom duration; and the psychological impact of OGD using six items to explore the multidimensional impact, such as daily activity, job performance, and social life.

Description of Novel Technique for Managing Insufficient Nasal Skin Volume.

A short nose is a common esthetic problem faced by facial plastic surgeons. Rhinoplasty of the short nose has been recognized as a complex procedure to perform for achieving satisfactory results. The authors presented 4 cases of short nose in 4 Saudi men who underwent rhinoplasty using septal extension graft and closure the skin with secondary intention as an option to control skin tension after graft placement and to increase nose skin volume to prevent skin retraction, which may occur postoperatively during the healing process.

Due to its histological and immune-histochemical similarities with GCT of bones, GCT-ST is thought to be its counterpart. This review article aims to recognize the characteristics of this rare tumor along with a favorable way to diagnose and treat.

The journey of rheumatoid arthritis patients: a review of reported lag times from the onset of symptoms.

Background: Even after achieving tremendous advances in diagnosis and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), many of the patients undergo delays in diagnosis and initiation of treatment, which leads to worsening of the condition and poor prognosis.

Objective: The objective of this study was to perform a literature review to quantify the lag times in diagnosis and treatment of RA and study the reported factors associated with it.

Methods: The authors searched literature published until September 2016 in electronic full-text and abstract databases and hand-searched the suitable articles.
