Objective: Molecular detection and co-presence of carbapenem-resistant genes in the isolates of are less commonly reported from Quetta. In the present study, we determined to highlight the antibiotic sensitivity profile and genetic mechanism of carbapenem resistance.
Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted from May to September 2018 at the Hi-tech laboratory, Centre for Advance Studies in Vaccinology and Biotechnology, University of Baluchistan, Quetta.
Background: Seasonal influenza vaccine can reduce the risk of influenza-associated hospitalizations and deaths among children. Given that parents are the primary decision makers, this study examined the parental attitude toward childhood influenza vaccine and identified determinants of vaccine hesitancy (VH) in the Eastern Mediterranean region (EMR).
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using an anonymous online survey in 14 EMR countries.

Extramedullary and nonlymphoid organ involvement in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is exceedingly rare, with only a few cases of bladder infiltration reported to date. Here, we present a case of a 71-year-old man with advanced-stage CLL who presented with gross hematuria initially thought to be secondary to a urinary tract infection. However, a cystoscopy with biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of extramedullary CLL with bladder involvement.

Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted from April to August 2018 at the Biotechnology Laboratory, Balochistan University of Information Technology Engineering and Management Sciences, Quetta, Hi-tech Laboratory, Centre for Advance Studies in Vaccinology and Biotechnology, University of Balochistan, Quetta and Microbiology Laboratory, Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, Quetta, Pakistan.
Objectives: A bunch of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China, was caused by a novel beta-corona virus, (COVID-19) in December 2019 from where it spread rapidly across the globe. The aim of the study was to find out relevant reasons and offered suggestions to reduce the risk of infection and check clinical outcomes of the infected healthcare workers.
Methods: This study was conducted in COVID-19 Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) laboratory, Bolan Medical Complex Hospital Quetta, Baluchistan from May to June 2020.
Objectives: Urinary tract infections are the second most common bacterial infections occurring at all ages and both sexes. The increasing rate of antibiotic resistance is a global concern. The use of routinely used antibiotics is resulting in treatment failure.

The present study was, therefore, designed to investigate the prevalence and epidemiology of NDM-1 producers in Quetta, Pakistan.
Methods: This study was carried out in Microbiology Laboratory, Bolan Medical Complex Hospital Quetta, Biotechnology laboratory, BUITEMS Quetta and Hi-tech laboratory, CASVAB, University of Balochistan, Quetta, from March to June 2018, during the hot season.
Background: The aim of this paper was to review the feasibility of peritoneal dialysis (PD) in the presence of a permanent suprapubic catheter over a long follow-up period.
Methods: Twelve patients with automated PD and permanent suprapubic catheters were studied for complications over a period of 10 years.
Results: In all 12 patients, PD went smoothly.
Background: Although extra pulmonary tuberculosis (EPTB) has long been known as a major public health concern globally, the complex healthcare-seeking pathways of EPTB patients are not widely studied. This study aims to explore the pattern of healthcare-seeking pathways of rural and urban EPTB patients registered with the BRAC TB control programme. BRAC is a Bangladesh-based non-governmental organization dedicated to alleviating poverty through empowering the poor.

However, the reason underlying these discrepancies remains unclear due to the limited number of studies on GT4. microRNA-155 () is a noteworthy example of a discrepancy in GT4, as it was found to be upregulated in genotypes 1, 2 and 3 HCV infection, but downregulated in GT4-HCV-infected peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the short-term complications and duration of hospital stay in patients treated with omentopexy as primary repair in perforated duodenal ulcer that were more than 12 hours old and more than 0.5 cm in size.
Study Design: Case-series study.
Autosomal recessive nonsyndromic deafness is one of the most frequent forms of inherited hearing impairment. Over 30 autosomal recessive nonsyndromic hearing loss loci have been mapped, and 15 genes have been isolated. Of the over 30 reported autosomal recessive nonsyndromic hearing loss (NSHL) loci, the typical phenotype is prelingual non-progressive severe to profound hearing loss with the exception of DFNB8, which displays postlingual onset and DFNB13, which is progressive.
