Modulating the gut microbiota by probiotics could be effective in management of T2DM. The aim of the present trial was to evaluate the effect of Lactobacillus casei on glycemic control and serum sirtuin1 (SIRT1) and fetuin-A in patients with T2DM.

Practice Environment Scale of Nursing Work Index (PES-NWI) is widely utilized to assess nursing work environments. The present study was conducted to demonstrate the validity and reliability of the Persian version of PES-NWI.

Materials And Methods: SKBR3 and MCF-7 breast cancer cells were treated with 500 μM 2DG and/or MLN4924 (30, 100, 200 and 300 nM), and in combination in the presence and absence of 1, 1.5 and 2 Gy gamma irradiation.
Background: Sychotropic agents (alcohol, drugs, and illicit substances) have an important effect on the occurrence or exacerbation of psychological and behavioral derangements such as criminal activity and mental abnormalities.
Objectives: The objective was to assess the relationship between psychiatric distress and criminal history among abusers of intravenous drugs, including heroin, benzodiazepine, codeine, cannabis, opium, and ecstasy.
Materials And Methods: Criminal activity history and psychiatric distress were evaluated among intravenous drug abusers in drop-in centers (DIC) (141 subjects) and an outpatient service to delivery methadone to the addicts located in Razy Hospital (Baghdad, Iraq) (120 subjects).
Objectives: Anti-inflammatory therapeutic approaches are considered for the management of type 2 diabetes and for the prevention of its complications. There is limited evidence regarding the effects of prebiotics on inflammation, especially in patients with type 2 diabetes. This trial aims to examine the effects of oligofructose-enriched inulin on glycemic status, inflammation markers, and metabolic endotoxemia in female patients.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to assess the relationship of DNA damage, apoptosis and dysfunction of mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) in ejaculated spermatozoa with semen parameters (sperm concentration, motility and normal morphology) and to evaluate their effects on assisted reproductive technology (ART) outcomes after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
Methods: Semen parameters in 120 infertile couples who underwent ICSI treatment were routinely analyzed and examined for the incidence of sperm DNA fragmentation (DF) by the sperm chromatin dispersion test (SCD). Whereas the incidences of sperm apoptosis and dysfunction of MMP were assessed by flow cytometry.
