Self-supervised learning provides an opportunity to explore unlabeled chest X-rays and their associated free-text reports accumulated in clinical routine without manual supervision. This paper proposes a Joint Image Text Representation Learning Network (JoImTeRNet) for pre-training on chest X-ray images and their radiology reports. The model was pre-trained on both the global image-sentence level and the local image region-word level for visual-textual matching.

The metastases on chest radiographs are initially subtle and easily missed. Computed tomographic scans can show a spectrum of diagnostic findings that may be misinterpreted because of a lack of awareness related to the rarity of the disease.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted using a structured questionnaire consisting of eleven multiple choice questions, encompassing major aspects of hypertension such as the definition, diagnosis, treatment, complications and risk factors. This survey was conducted from June to August 2010 on final year medical students of Dow University of Health Sciences and interns and residents working at four tertiary care hospitals.
Objective: To examine the severity, frequency, monthly variability and grouping of some common epidemics and its relation to hygienic conditions and life style of the people in Karachi.
Methods: This ecological study was conducted from 2006 to 2009. Data was obtained from five different localities of Karachi.
Many causes of esophagitis exist in immunocompromised patients. Uncommon pathogens must be considered to facilitate timely and appropriate therapy. A limited number of cases of esophageal actinomycosis have been reported.

Methods: A retrospective review of the medical records and skiagrams of 692 consecutive smear positive pulmonary TB patients admitted in the Sahary Chest Hospital, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from January 1998 to December 1999, was performed. One hundred and eighty-seven (27%) patients had an associated DM.
