Thorough examination and removal of unusual lymph nodes or thickened tissues are essential to prevent the risk of malignant transformation and ensure comprehensive patient care.

Abstract: Pyloric gland adenomas are uncommon tumors that can be discovered in various organs such as the stomach, gallbladder, and pancreas.

Uncommon presentation of complicated internal hernia through the appendices epiploicae ring of adhesion: a clinical case study.

Background: Internal hernias are infrequent, yet serious, medical conditions with potentially severe consequences. An internal hernia resulting from an Appendices epiploicae (AE) ring is an especially rare cause, with a mere nine documented instances worldwide.

Case Report: This report presents the case of a 58-year-old male who suffered from an internal hernia originating from an AE ring.

Laparoscopic management of intestinal obstruction in a young adult with a virgin abdomen: Unusual presentation of combined vitellointestinal duct remnants: A clinical case report.

Key Clinical Message: In an 18-year-old, Meckel's diverticulum and a rare vitellointestinal fibrous band caused bowel obstruction. Clinicians should be vigilant for such anomalies, especially in young adults with virgin abdomens, as potential sources of intestinal obstruction.

Abstract: In this case report, we highlight the rarity of vitellointestinal or omphalomesenteric duct anomalies causing intestinal obstruction in the adult population.

Adult appendicitis score versus Alvarado score: A comparative study in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis.

Background: Acute Appendicitis (AA) is the most common abdominal surgical emergency. It requires proper management to decrease mortality and morbidity. Clinical scoring systems for diagnosing AA aimed to decrease the use of radiological scans and the rate of negative appendectomies (NA).

Daytime versus nighttime laparoscopic appendectomy in term of complications and clinical outcomes: A retrospective study of 1001 appendectomies.

Purpose: This research aims to study whether the time of day impacts the outcome of laparoscopic appendectomy. Peri/post-operative data including type of surgery, operating room time, length of stay, re-hospitalization rates, and short/long term morbidity and mortality were assembled and analyzed.

Methods: A retrospective review of all patient's charts who underwent an appendectomy for acute appendicitis at the Acute Care Surgery division at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) from December 2017 to July 2020 was performed.

Background: No study assessed the behaviour/epidemiology of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) among Filipinos in the Middle East/north Africa; or compared such behaviour with Filipino DTC patients in and outside the Philippines.

Materials And Methods: Retrospective review of all adult Filipinos with DTC diagnosed between 2015 and 2020 at our institution [papillary TC (PTC, n = 110); follicular TC (FTC, n = 4)]. Chi-square or -test compared the frequency, demography, history, ultrasound, laboratory and histopathology of PTC vs FTC; and compared the epidemiology of DTC among Filipinos in Qatar vs Canada (1 study) vs the Philippines (3 studies).

The Role of Alvarado Score in Predicting Acute Appendicitis and Its Severity in Correlation to Histopathology: A Retrospective Study in a Qatar Population.

Background/objective Acute appendicitis (AA) is one of the most common surgical emergencies that require a proper diagnosis to avoid a negative outcome in the case of missed or delayed diagnosis. Our study aims to assess the diagnostic power of the Alvarado score and the prediction of the severity of acute appendicitis in correlation to intraoperative findings and the final histopathology (HP) result. Methods This retrospective study was applied to 1,303 patients with clinically proven acute appendicitis (AA) and available HP results.

Efficacy of intraperitoneal bupivacaine in laparoscopic bariatric surgery.

A best evidence topic has been constructed using a described protocol. The three-part question addressed was: In [patients undergoing bariatric surgery], is [intraperitoneal local bupivacaine during the operation ] associated with [ lower pain score and decrease in post operative pain medications]? The search has been done and six randomized trial studies are considered to be appropriate to answer this question. The outcome assessed is the value of intraperitoneal bupivacaine in bariatric surgery in terms of effect on the pain score and post operative analgesia.
